We will try to be finished by 12 p.m. Her address is 50 W. Lawrin Blvd. (just a few minutes from church building). Her yard is not big. Hence, a push mower might be more effective than a riding mower. Also, it would be helpful if someone with a trailer would be available to haul away the brush and saplings. What Makes A Dad Author Unknown

God took the strength of a mountain,

The majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun,

The calm of a quiet sea,

The generous soul of nature,

The comforting arm of night,

The wisdom of the ages,

The power of the eagle’s flight,

The joy of a morning in spring,

The faith of a mustard seed,

The patience of eternity,

The depth of a family need,

Then God combined these qualities,

When there was nothing more to add,

He knew His masterpiece was complete,

And so, He called it...Dad.

From Matt . . . Bible study can be very intimidating. The Bible is a big book. It has strange language. It refers

to strange events in strange lands among strange people. So, if you want to study just to find out what this or that

passage means, or how it may apply to you, where do you start? Are there any reliable resources that can faithfully

walk you through the different cultures, languages, and ideas of this ancient book? Of course there are! But the body

of literature designed to help you understand the Bible is profuse, and choosing from among the numerous authors

and series can itself be daunting. So, in the coming installments of "The Back Page," I'll be recommending some

books that I have found particularly helpful in clearing away the fog of centuries past to get at the meaning of the

Bible for today.

Understanding the Gospels:

Jesus and the Gospels: An Introduction and Survey – Blomberg

Four Portraits, One Jesus – Strauss

Four Gospels, One Jesus – Burridge

The Method and Message of Jesus' Teaching – Stein

The Tyndale New Testament Commentaries on the Gospels – France, Cole, Morris, Kruse

The Bible Speaks Today series on the Gospels – Stott, Green, English, Wilcock, Milne
