From the Pastor:
My dear friends in Christ,
The outpouring of the Spirit at Pentecost is called the birthday of the universal Church. Through the Spirit the Church realizes her call to preach the Gospel of Christ to the whole world. With Jesus’ breath—the Spirit—we are given peace. With our breath, we share the peace of the Lord each Sunday. The Feast of Pentecost brings the Easter Season to a close. The double Alleluia at the end of Mass illustrates that. The Easter Candle is extinguished and moved to the Baptistery. The 90 Days are over. But our call to Mission is not. It is fitting for us to pray, “Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful and enkindle in them the fire of your love. Send forth you’re Spirit and they shall be created. And you shall renew the face of the earth.” We discovered a leak coming from the ceiling in the Sacristy last week. I’m waiting for an assessment from our maintenance man. We are currently operating at a year to date loss of about $30,000. The Christmas Collection reflected a $10,000 deficit from last year and Our New Year’s day collection was down from last year. We lost two regular Sunday collections as these Holy Days fell on respective Sundays. Our Easter collection was down $5,000. It is my understanding that the faithful of Corpus Christ have always rallied for the good of the Parish. I ask that you please be as generous as you can so that we can make up for these lost days and keep our debt from escalating. May God bless you all!
Fr. John

R. C. I. A. ARE YOU SOMEONE OR DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE … who has expressed an interest in becoming Catholic?
Corpus Christi Parish offers an opportunity to come together in a small group to learn more about our Catholic faith through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), a process through which an adult explores the Catholic faith with others who are reflecting on their calling to become Catholic. RCIA prepares those who have never been baptized for the reception of the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, First Eucharist; those who have been baptized in another Christian faith tradition and wish to become Catholic through the reception of Confirmation and First Eucharist; those who have been baptized Catholic but have not received Confirmation and First Eucharist. In addition, preparation is also offered for adult Confirmation candidates - those who have been baptized and received First Holy Communion, but are still in need of the Sacrament of Confirmation.
To learn more about the RCIA, three inquiry weekends will be held after all Masses: June 10-11; July 15-16; and August 12-13 in the Parish Meeting Room. For more information, please call the Rectory office, 609.877.5322
“WOMEN OF JOY” PRAYER BREAKFAST Saturday, June 10th, 2017, 9:00-11:30 AM
As we close our 13th year, the Women of Joy will celebrate this happy occasion with a breakfast that will take most of us back to our teenage years! We will remember the 1950’s with dress, song, games and dance. We hope all breakfast goers will come in the dress appropriate to the decade and be ready to participate in the fun. If you can’t find your poodle skirt and saddle shoes, you are invited to come anyway. All Women of Joy, past and present and friends are welcome to come and enjoy the part. As always, great food and warm fellowship and, of course, our famous BASKETS OF JOY! Save the date and plan to be there. More info/directions, please call Marianne Janus, 609.835.1475; Monica Maass, 609.877.1583.
Please note: The Women of Joy will NOT meet in July or August. We’ll see you again on September 9th! Have a safe and happy summer!
