The aim of installing theplayground equipment was toencourage students hailingfrom far flung, remote andborder areas to develop fond-ness for physical fitness. Theschools had requested forassistance in terms of play-ground equipment and hencethe Army installed play-ground slide and playgroundswings at the school ground.
The playground equipmentwas handed over to the SchoolPrincipal, GovernmentMiddle School, Jaba in thepresence of the School Staff,Sarpanch of the villages andprominent persons of the
area. They appreciated thegesture of Indian Army oflooking after the needs of stu-dents. This initiative will go along way in inspiring and nur-turing the children of theschool for their good future.

The camp was organised byAICRP (Honeybee andPollinators), SKUAST-Jammu in collaboration withDepartment of Floriculture,Reasi. More than 50 farm-ers/rural youths/beekeepersof the area from adjacentareas of village attended theprogramme. Dr. DevinderSharma suggested diversifi-cation of agriculture andadoption of more lucrativeoptions like Apiculture (Bee
keeping) for enhancing theirlivelihood. Bees not only thefarmers make sweet divi-dends but bee keeping alsohelps in increasing agricul-ture productivity throughpollination, he added.
Sunil Singh, Landscapeofficer stated that the farmerfaces lot of problems especial-ly the vagaries of weather,besides fragmented land withpoor yield to sustain his fam-ily and it is high time thatthey should switch over todiversified agriculture likefloriculture, apiculture andmushroom cultivation etc.

about 105 farmers out ofwhich 80 men and 25 womenparticipated from nearby vil-lages and five scientist ofbriefed the importance ofweather in Agriculture.

Dr.Mahender Singh, Sr.Scientist & Nodal officer ofthe scheme stressed thefarmer that how to cropplants are related with weath-er and their responses in dif-ferent metabolic activities ofthe plant and futher stress
that farmers can take theadvantage of such pro-gramme for future planningunder climate change/vari-ability and its effect on agri-culture.

District Tuberculosis Officer, Dr. Kavi Raj Sharma briefedabout the achievement and work done in the field of eliminatingTuberculosis disease in the district. A rally comprising ANMTparamedical students and school students was flagged-off byADC Gurvinderjeet Singh from District Hospital Udhampur.
The rally commenced from ANMT School premises with ban-ners and placards having various TB awareness messagespassed through Mukerjee Bazaar Hospital Road, RamnagarChowk, Gole Market, Matador Stand, Main Bazaar, MHChowk, and culminated at District Tuberculosis CentreUdhampur.
