Why the Name: “The Wild Goose”? The “Wild Goose” was a term that the ancient Celts had for the Holy Spirit. Yes, there is a wildness to the Holy Spirit. The dominant images of the Holy Spirit are a meek dove or a flickering flame of a candle, both of which are in one way accurate. But the Holy Spirit is far more than that. About the Presenter Fr. Dave Pivonka, TOR, is a nationally known author and speaker dedicated to helping others come to know God’s love for them through preaching and writing. Fr. Dave has held several ministry positions at Franciscan University of Steubenville and is actively involved in the highly successful summer conferences program. He is the author of the new book Breath of God – Living a life led by the Holy Spirit.

Will you help to reignite our Ignatian Spirituality programs at St. Anthony’s? A number of years ago, many of our parishioners took part in Living with Christ (The program is now called Meeting Christ in Prayer). These programs are grounded in the Spiritual Exercises of Ignatius Loyola. Participants meet once a week in small groups with a facilitator.

Meeting Christ in Prayer offers the opportunity to:

• Seek spiritual renewal and deepen your spiritual life

• Learn how to pray as an adult

• Form regular prayer habits/try new ways of praying

• Reflect on Scripture

• Become more aware of God’s presence in your life • Join a supportive, faith-sharing community The program is an 8-week commitment and requires daily prayer and journaling. We need the help of facilitators: If you were involved in either Living with Christ or Meeting Christ in Prayer and would like to be a facilitator for a new series at St. Anthony’s, we invite you to participate in Meeting Christ in Prayer once again.

PLEASE FILL OUT FORM BELOW AND DROP IT OFF AT THE RE-

CEPTION BOOTH IN THE PARISH CENTER.

OR MAIL TO: MEETING CHRIST IN PRAYER PROGRAM

ST. ANTHONY’S CHURCH 110 ANCHOR AVENUE OCEANSIDE, NY 11572

WE WILL CONTACT YOU AS WE START TO ORGANIZE THE PROGRAM.

I am interested in participating as a facilitator in a new program of Meeting Christ in Prayer at St. Anthony’s. SUSCIPE Prayer of St. Ignatius of Loyola

Take, Lord, and receive all my liberty, my memory, my understanding, and my entire will, All I have and call my own. You have given all to me. To you, Lord, I return it. Everything is yours; do with it what you will. Give me only your love and your grace, that is enough for me.

IGNATIAN VOLUNTEER CORPS (IVC)

Experience Making a Difference We invite you to Join IVC and become a contemplative in action in the spirit of

St. Ignatius Loyola and the Jesuits! IVC volunteers are over 50 years of age who offer their life skills and

experience one to two days a week to directly serve those in need.

Volunteers gather monthly to prayerfully reflect on their service and deepen their

spirituality in the Ignatian tradition. There is also the opportunity

for spiritual guidance. Contact Maureen Fullam,
