Day 4 (Sat) Dead Sea / MassadaDrive to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls werefound. Visit the ancient city of Qumran and drivealong the shores of the Dead Sea, the lowest placeon earth to Massada, the last stronghold of the Jewsafter the destruction of the Second Temple in 70A.D. Ascend Massada by cable car and visit thefood storeroom, water irrigation system and Herod’sPalace. Return to Jerusalem. Overnight inJerusalem. (B, D)
Day 5 (Sun) Beit Shean / NazarethDepart Jerusalem and drive via the Jordan Valley to
Beit Shean, a newly excavated city, and visit the
Roman theatre. Drive to Yardenit, the baptismal site
on the Jordan River; continue to Nazareth via Cana
of Galilee to visit the Church of Annunciation, St.
Joseph’s workshop and Mary’s well. Overnight in
Kibbutz Lavi. (B, D)
Day 6 (Mon) Tiberias / Capernaum / BaniasAfter a short tour of Tiberias, take a boat ride to Ca-
pernaum. Visit the remains of the 2nd century syna-
gogue. Proceed to Tabgha, the site of the "Miracle
of Fish and Loaves" and visit the Church of Multipli-
cation with its 4th century mosaic floor. Continue to
Mount of Beatitudes, the place where Jesus deliv-
ered the Sermon on the Mount. Drive to the Banias
Springs and waterfalls and tour the Golan Heights.
Return to Kibbutz Lavi for overnight. (B, D)
Day 7 (Tues) Acre / Haifa / Megiddo / CaesareaDepart Kibbutz Lavi and drive to Acre to visit the an-
cient city and harbor. Continue to Haifa to view the
Persian Gardens at the Bahai Temple. Continue to
Megiddo, identified as the site of Armageddon to
visit the archeological excavations including the
well-preserved water supply system. Drive to Cae-
sarea, capital of Judea under the Romans. Visit the
excavations of the ancient city, Roman Theatre and
aqueduct. Drive along the coastal plain to Tel Aviv.

Day 4 (Fri) Qumran / Massada / Dead SeaDrive through the Judean Desert to the Dead Sea,the lowest point on earth, almost 1300 feet (400meters) below sea level. Stop at Qumran to visit thesite where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Drivealong the shores of the Dead Sea to Massada. As-cend by cable car and tour the ancient fortresswhere the Zealots made their last stand against theRomans before committing mass suicide in 73 A.D.Descend by cable car. Day 6 (Sun) Caesarea / Megiddo / Druze Vil-
lages
Drive along the coastal plain to Caesarea, capital of
Judea under the Romans. See the excavations of
the Crusader city, Roman port, aqueduct and the
amphitheater that has been restored to its former
glory as a concert venue. Proceed to Megiddo,
identified as the site of Armageddon; visit the ar-
chaeological excavations including the well pre-
served water supply system. Continue to Daliat El
Carmel, a Druze village and enjoy a late lunch at a
local restaurant. Proceed via Mount Carmel to
Haifa for a panoramic view of the Haifa Bay and
Golden domed Bahai shrine and Gardens.

Day 7 (Mon) Safed / Golan Heights / Winery
Drive to Safed, the center of Jewish mysticism,
where you will visit the ancient synagogues and
artists’ colony. Continue to the Golan Heights to see
the former Syrian bunkers, Kuneitra and the new Is-
raeli town of Katzrin. Stop at the Golan Winery for a
tour and wine tasting; Proceed to Kessem Hagolan,
a multimedia presentation of the area and its his-
tory. Overnight in a Kibbutz guesthouse. (B, D)
Day 8 (Tues) Sea of Galilee / Nazareth
Start the day with a visit to Nazareth and visit the
Church of the Annunciation. Continue to Tiberias;
visit Capernaum to see the ruins of the synagogue
and octagonal Church of St. Peter. Visit Mount of
Beatitudes where Jesus delivered the Sermon on
the Mount. Drive via Beit Shean to Beit Alpha to
see the remains of the mosaic floor of an ancient
synagogue depicting the zodiac. Overnight in Tel
