Impeller and Scraper RotationProduces Better GranulesLess Material Adheres to the Body and Lid
In traditional Rapid Mixer Granulators (RMGs), the circumferential speed from centre to periphery becomes faster.
Closer to the centre, the granulated substances tend to become larger. As the capacity increases, this phenomenon
TMbecomes more pronounced. However, in the Super Gran , the impellers and scraper are mounted co-axially in a vertical
direction and the scraper rotates along the periphery to guide the flow of powder towards the centre like a washing
machine, which prevents adhesion of the materials to the upper lid.
The material is size-reduced and granulated by the impeller in the centre. The material obtained after processing in
TMSuper Gran is such that it negates the need for finishing sizers and is most suitable for tableting.
TMSuper Gran is equipped with seals that prevent vacuum leakage and facilitates tamper proofing.

In traditional Rapid Mixer Granulators (RMGs), as capacity increases, material tends to exhibit a bi-modal behaviour
because the shear zone is only at the bottom of the bowl, where the impeller is moving. This leads to uneven shear
application to the powder mass. Also, it paves the way for unpredictable effects of compressive forces to creep in,
ultimately leading to loss in scalability at larger volumes.
TMMultiple stacked impellers in the Super Gran enable uniform granulation by negating the bi-layered movement of the
powder mass that occurs in a standard RMG bowl.
TMOwing to the presence of multiple layers of impellers in the Super Gran , granulation occurs faster.
Multiple impellers enable uniform scalability up to 3,500 litres which is otherwise not possible with a standard RMG
design. Depending on the product and batch size, the number of impellers can be changed and distance between
them can be adjusted using spacers.

TMIn the Super Gran , impeller blades are of various shapes. Depending on the particular formulation, the blades are
appropriately changed.
There are various permutations of different types of impeller blades—stacked one above the other with spacers of
varying heights. This feature helps create precise and controlled growth in shape and size of granules.

The co-axial scraper prevents the material from sticking to the inner wall and brings the material from the periphery
into the shear zone. The scraper rotating slowly along the walls increases the agitation efficiency and helps discharge
the total material.
Since coarse particles of agglomerated lumps are size-reduced and granulated by the impeller after the binder is fed,
the apparent specific gravity of the material is lighter than that of a conventional RMG. Hence, it is most suitable for
foods, pharmaceutical products and granules for tableting.
