‘Putting the grower in a good market position’ has been the mission of our company for many years. This strong focus, but above all, the commitment of our people, means that each year we can introduce new, strong and unique genetic material to the market. But your business, and ours, only flourish because consumers continue to buy plants and flowers. For this reason, during the past few years we have focused on creating ‘ambassadors’ for our products. An ambitious project, that we can only realise with that same commitment to the grower and in collaboration with other partners in the chain.

It gives me great pleasure to say that with more than 200 employees in the Netherlands and another 100 in Tanzania we are still a dedicated and passionate team and that together we form a close-knit family-owned company. With considerable affection for our profession, from flower seed production to sales and from cultivation to seed technique, I have the audacity to state that all our employees are proud of our Cyclamen, Primula, Ranunculus or Campanula. These products have a long journey to make before they can beautify the consumers' home or garden. We also consider it to be part of our task to direct, together with you, this dedication to promoting our further fruitful collaboration in the chain. Collaboration in which the grower is central – because, without growers there would be no product, without ambassadors no market.

However, the world is changing rapidly. Consumers make their purchases where and when they are inspired. But consumers are also increasingly demanding and order what they want, when and where it is convenient. The traditional floriculture sector is diminishing. A new equilibrium is emerging between supply and demand and where these intersect. Together with you and the other partners in the chain we continually endeavour to be one step ahead of these new trends and developments. The main objective remains: value-creation and improved return on investment for all links in the chain.

'De kweker in een goede marktpositie brengen’. Het is al sinds jaren dé missie van ons bedrijf. Deze sterke focus maar bovenal de betrokkenheid van onze medewerkers maakt dat we ieder jaar weer nieuwe, sterke en bijzondere genetica op de markt kunnen brengen. Maar uw en ons bestaansrecht is vooral bij de gratie dat de consument bloemen en planten blijft kopen. Het heeft ertoe geleid dat wij als bedrijf de laatste jaren ook gericht hebben ingezet op het creëren van ‘ambassadeurs’. Een ambitieus doel dat ook alleen met diezelfde betrokkenheid naar de kweker én in samenwerking met andere ketenpartners bereikt kan worden.

Met veel genoegen kan ik zeggen dat we met ruim 200 medewerkers in Nederland en 100 medewerkers in Tanzania nog steeds een gepassioneerd betrokken team hebben en een hecht familiebedrijf vormen. Met veel passie voor het vak, van bloemzaadproductie tot sales en van teelt tot zaadtechniek, durf ik te stellen dat alle medewerkers trots zijn op onze Cyclamen, Primula, Ranonkels of Campanula. Producten die een lange weg afleggen voordat ze bij de consument op tafel of in de tuin staan. Wij zien het als onze taak om deze betrokkenheid ook in te zetten om samen met u te werken aan verdere vruchtbare samenwerkingen in de keten. Samenwerkingen waarin u als kweker centraal staat. Want zonder kweker géén product, zonder ambassadeurs géén afzet.

Maar de wereld verandert snel. De consument koopt haar product daar waar ze geïnspireerd raakt. Maar zij is ook in toenemende mate veeleisend en bestelt waar zij wil, wanneer zij wil. Het traditionele bloemen- en plantenschap verdwijnt. Er ontstaat een nieuwe balans tussen vraag en aanbod en de plek waar dit samenkomt. Samen met u en andere ketenpartners trachten we telkens weer de handen ineen te slaan en deze nieuwe trend op te pakken. Het voornaamste doel: waarde-creatie en verbeteren van het rendement voor alle schakels in de keten.

Ik spreek graag de hoop uit om komend seizoen u allemaal ergens in dat proces te mogen treffen en u met ons team van dienst te kunnen zijn. Dank voor het vertrouwen dat u stelt in ons product en beleid. Wij staan graag voor u klaar!

Doch ohne Konsumenten, die weiterhin Blumen und Zierpflanzen kaufen, ist die Zukunft Ihres und unseres Unternehmens ungewiss. Daher haben wir als Unternehmen in den vergangenen Jahren gezielt darauf hingearbeitet, „Botschafter" für unsere Produkte zu kreieren. Ein ehrgeiziges Ziel, das nur mit einem entsprechenden Fokus auf die Kultivateure und in Zusammenarbeit mit den Kettenpartnern verwirklicht werden kann.

Ich freue mich daher auch sagen zu können, dass wir mit gut 200 Mitarbeitern in den Niederlanden und 100 Mitarbeitern in Tansania noch immer über ein sehr passioniertes Team verfügen und ein starkes Familienunternehmen sind. Mit viel Liebe zum Fach - von der Samenproduktion bis zum Verkauf und vom Anbau bis zur Saattechnik. Daher kann ich guten Gewissens behaupten, dass alle Mitarbeiter stolz auf unsere Cyclamen, Primeln, Ranunkeln oder Campanula sind. Produkte, die einen langen Weg zurücklegen, bevor sie auf den Tisch oder in den Garten des Konsumenten gelangen. Wir sehen es als unsere Aufgabe, dieses Engagement auch dafür zu nutzen, gemeinsam mit Ihnen an einer weiteren fruchtbaren Zusammenarbeit in der Kette zu arbeiten. Eine Zusammenarbeit, bei der Sie als Kultivateur im Mittelpunkt stehen. Denn ohne Kultivateur kein Produkt, ohne Botschafter kein Absatz.

Wir leben jedoch in einer sich rasch verändernden Welt. Der Konsument kauft dort, wo er Inspiration erfährt, wird aber auch stets anspruchsvoller und bestellt wo und wann er will. Herkömmliche Blumen- und Zierpflanzengeschäfte verschwinden von der Bildfläche. Es entsteht ein neues Gleichgewicht zwischen Nachfrage und Angebot und dem Ort, an dem diese aufeinandertreffen. Gemeinsam mit Ihnen und anderen Kettenpartner sind wir unablässig bemüht, diesen Herausforderungen die Stirn zu bieten und diesen neuen Trend aufzugreifen. Unser wichtigstes Ziel: Wertschöpfung und Ertragsoptimierung für alle Glieder der Kette.

Climate conditions influence the time required to cultivate our Super Serie. So it is important to take the specific climate conditions at your nursery into account when deciding which of our varieties to grow.

COOL CLIMATESCool climate conditions can best be compared to the cool to temperate sea climates. Key characteristics here are the relatively small temperature differences between summer and winter and precipitation throughout the year. In the driest month of the year, there is at least 30 mm precipitation, in the warmest month, the average temperature is below 22°C.

WARM CLIMATESWarm climate conditions are those similar to a Mediterranean or warm sea climate with warm summers and mild, wet winters. In the driest summer month there is an average of 30 mm precipitation; in the wettest winter month the average is at least three times as much. In the warmest month of the year the average temperature is at least 22°C. For warmer climates we have specially developed a Solar variety in some series. Check the product pages to see for which products a Solar variety is available and can be ordered.

The climate tables for warm and cool conditions serve as a guide when making your choice for a particular Super Serie variety. Due to the considerable variation in regions and climates, it is not possible for us to describe all circumstances in detail. Our growing consultants would be happy to advise you for your specific cultivation circumstances.

Klimaatomstandigheden zijn van invloed op de teeltduur van onze Super Serie. Bij de keuze voor een ras is het dan ook van belang rekening te houden met de specifieke klimaatomstandigheden op uw kwekerij.

KOEL KLIMAATKoele klimaatomstandigheden zijn het best te vergelijken met het koele tot gematigde zeeklimaat. Belangrijkste kenmerken zijn de relatief kleine temperatuurverschillen tussen zomer en winter en de over het jaar verspreide neerslag. In de droogste maand van het jaar valt minimaal 30 mm, in de warmste maand van het jaar ligt de gemiddelde temperatuur onder 22 graden Celsius.

WARM KLIMAATWarme klimaatomstandigheden lijken op een mediterraan of warm zeeklimaat met warme zomers en milde, natte winters. In de droogste zomermaand valt gemiddeld 30 mm neerslag; in de natste wintermaand is dat gemiddeld minstens driemaal zoveel. De warmste maand van het jaar heeft een gemiddelde temperatuur van minimaal 22 graden Celsius. Voor warmere klimaten hebben we speciaal een Solar versie ontwikkeld in sommige series. Kijk op de productpagina’s bij welke producten Solar beschikbaar is en besteld kan worden.

De klimaattabellen voor warme en koele omstandigheden dienen als hulpmiddel bij de keuze voor een bepaald ras uit onze Super Serie. Door de grote verscheidenheid aan regio's en klimaten kunnen wij niet volledig zijn in de omschrijvingen. Over uw specifieke teeltsituatie geven wij graag een advies op maat.

Klimabedingungen haben Einfluss auf die Kulturdauer unserer Super Serie. Bei der Sortenauswahl sollten daher immer auch die spezifischen Klimabedingungen in Ihrer Gärtnerei berücksichtigt werden.

KÜHLES KLIMAKühle Klimabedingungen lassen sich am besten mit einem kühlen bis gemäßigten Meeresklima vergleichen. Hauptmerkmale sind die relativ geringen Temperaturunterschiede zwischen Sommer und Winter und der über das ganze Jahr verteilte Niederschlag. Im trockensten Monat des Jahres fällt mindestens 30 mm Niederschlag, und im wärmsten Monat des Jahres liegt die Durchschnittstemperatur bei mindestens 22 Grad Celsius.

WARMES KLIMAWarme Klimabedingungen lassen sich am besten mit einem mediterranen Klima oder einem warmen Meeresklima mit warmen Sommern und milden, nassen Wintern vergleichen. Im trockensten Sommermonat des Jahres fällt durchschnittlich 30 mm Niederschlag; im nassesten Wintermonat im Schnitt mindestens das Dreifache. Im wärmsten Monat des Jahres liegt die Durchschnittstemperatur bei mindestens 22 Grad Celsius. Speziell für wärmere Klimazonen haben wir bei einigen Serien eine Solar-Version entwickelt. Die Klimatabellen für warme und kühle Klimazonen sind ein Hilfsmittel bei der Auswahl einer bestimmten Sorte aus unserer Super Serie. Aufgrund der großen Vielfalt an Regionen und Klimazonen können unsere Beschreibungen jedoch nicht allumfassend sein. Compact is unique. The plant quality is indisputable, and the tremendous number of blooms captures the imagination. Available in no less than 28 colours. This year we have improved the colours Salmon Red, Light Neon Pink, Wine Red, Salmon Flamed, Wine Red Flamed and Fuji Dark Violet.

The first Fuji colours were available in the Compact series. There's a special effect in the tips of the blooms, they fade out to white: just like the snow-covered tip of Mount Fuji! This colour was first discovered by Japanese cyclamen breeders – so it just had to be named after Japan’s famous mountain.

Mammoth lives up to its name. Large, strong, sturdy, round and macho, that's Mammoth. Magnificent large blooms on very thick strong stems. For example, in the Netherlands we marketed the Mammoth XXL in a pot size of no less than 30 to 35 cm. Under the right conditions, these spectacular plants can even grow to 60 to 70 cm in diameter!

Several years ago we implemented major changes to our commercial strategy. The market appeared to go through a transformation, partly due to the financial crisis. Simply supplying high quality products was no longer sufficient, which is why we now have a ‘pull’ rather than a ‘push’ strategy in place. Our services go much further than just supplying the seeds. A high quality product is a prerequisite, but it is no longer a distinguishing quality. For this reason, we work together with the entire chain. And we put the grower at the centre.We endeavour to create demand at the end of the chain. We do this by creating specific product-grower-market combinations. But also by supporting our partners in the chain with growing recommendations, and marketing and sales advice. This strategy means that the grower moves into a better market position and in turn means an increase in the market return for the entire chain.

Een aantal jaar geleden hebben wij een grote verandering doorgevoerd in ons commerciële strategie. Door invloed van o.a. de financiële crisis bleek er een andere markt te ontstaan. Alleen het leveren van een kwalitatief goed product was niet meer genoeg. Vandaar dat wij nu een ‘pull’ strategie hanteren, i.p.v. een ‘push’ strategie. Dat doen we door gerichte product-, kweker-, marktcombinaties te maken. Maar ook door ketenpartners te ondersteunen in teelt-, marketing- en verkoopadviezen. Deze strategie leidt ertoe dat kweker in een betere marktpositie terecht komt, en dat betekent een verhoging van het marktrendement voor de gehele keten.

Vor einigen Jahren haben wir unsere Marketingstrategie grundlegend geändert. Durch u.a. den Einfluss der Finanzkrise war ein anderer Markt entstanden. Die Lieferung eines qualitativ hochwertigen Produkts allein erwies sich als nicht mehr ausreichend. Aus diesem Grund handhaben wir nun eine „Pull”-Strategie anstelle einer „Push”-Strategie. Unsere Dienstleistungen enden nicht mit der Lieferung des Saatguts. Ein qualitativ hochwertiges Produkt ist eine Voraussetzung, und nicht länger ein Unterscheidungsmerkmal. Aus diesem Grund setzen wir auf Zusammenarbeit in der gesamten Kette. Dabei stellen wir den Kultivateur in den Mittelpunkt.Wir versuchen, Nachfrage am Ende der Kette zu schaffen. Dazu erstellen wir gezielte Produkt-Kultivateur-Marktkombinationen, unterstützen unsere Kettenpartner aber auch bei Anbau, Marketing und Verkauf. Auf diese Weise erlangt der Kultivateur eine bessere Marktposition und wird die Marktrentabilität für die gesamte Kette erhöht.

Schoneveld Breeding selecteert, gespecialiseerde kwekers, handelsbedrijven en schaphouders om mee samen te werken en het product succesvol te introduceren. Op deze manier wordt het product op de juiste manier gepositioneerd en voor een langere periode met een betere prijs verkocht. After assessing the results, measured over several years, we discovered that a range of colours within certain series perform extremely well when grown outdoors. Based on these results, we have made a special selection from the serie that lives up to the standard and may bear the name Veranda Selections®. In recent years, the Super Serie® Picasso® and Verano® have more than earned this title. Veranda Selections® originates from many years' of research and this is therefore more than just a concept. Under the slogan ‘Connecting the Chains’ we offer marketing and promotion support to the whole chain. We do this by placing the grower centre stage in specific product-grower-market combinations.

We support clients and growers with brand and product campaigns. Examples of the professional materials we use for this include social media, product-specific websites, photos and video, brochures, product flyers, open days, flower trials, labels, advertisements in professional journals and trade fairs. A good example is the use of communities on Facebook, now in nine languages. This helps to draw attention to our products online among consumers and retailers.

The marketing support increases the visibility of Cyclamen Super Serie and enhances the return throughout the chain.
