March Mountain’s

Annual Spring ACTION Rally

$20,000 Grant Awarded

A California Teachers Association IFT Grant in the amount of $20,000 will go towards hosting March Mountain High School’s 3rd annual ‘Rally Around Fitness’ spring event in 2019.

The ‘Rally Around Fitness’ is a Special Olympics-like event where ACTION program students from across the school district come together for some fitness and fun. The daylong event also provides the opportunity for:

• Interaction between general population students and special education students

• Promotion of inclusiveness• Promotion of social skills for all• Outdoor fun 13Goal 4

National Forum to Accelerate Middle-Grades

Reform

Supporting Effective Educator Development Grant

(SEED)

• The grant results provide the field with a clearer path for improving student performance through effective middle-grades teacher preparation.

• Randomized control evaluation test happening in 96 intervention and control 6th and 7th grade classrooms across the country.

• Overall achievement scores in reading and mathematics did improve from fall to spring with mathematics scores for students in classrooms with the highest level of implementation outperforming students in control classrooms.Goal 1 20
