Superjet 100 surprisingly high reliability

Marketing and sales team of Superjet joint venture publicized current data on the

dispatch reliability of the Superjet to be at 99,7% meaning that only 3 in every 1000

flights are delayed by technical reasons.

This is very good percentage for the new Russian regional jet introduced in 2011 and

currently delivered 38 times to customers. Aircraft has around 100 sears depending

on the configuration and it is listed in the catogory of regional jet airplanes. Aircraft

competes with smaller Airbus and Boing aircraft which are not selling a lot, with

Bombardier CRJ series and couple of aircraft currently in development. This level of

reliability is usualy reached after years of service for civil aircraft with more than 100

seats.

If the information is true (sales people sometimes exaggerate) this is indicating that

this aircraft build and design are of very good quality and are significant jump

compared to some of the current Russian and Soviet made airliners and public

perception of them. One of the most notorious being Tupolev 134 with many fairly

recent crashes.
