L1F12MCOM0045Superstitions Superstitions have always fascinated me as a kid and its really interesting learning the different superstitions from other cultures. Why I chose this topic

3So what exactly are superstitionsA superstition is a belief of a particular idea or happening which is not based on any reasoning or knowledge. Instead, tells us that it was because of luck or chance.

Have an example Cause: You put your wallet in a coat pocket that has a hole. Effect: The wallet drop out of the hole and got lost.A superstitious person might say that you lost the wallet because you got up on the left side of the bed and jinxed your day. Black cats In Great Britain , Scottish , Japan black cats are a symbol of good luck and its arrival to the home signifies prosperity. Furthermore, it is believed that a lady who owns a black cat will have many suitors. However in Pakistan, black cats is a symbol of evil omens. WHOM SHOULD WE BELIEF? Eye twitching In China, the twitching of the left eyelid indicates the coming of good fortune; while the right one is a warning about the coming bad luck In India and Pakistan, eye twitching is reverse of china and based on the gender, left eye twitching is considered good for women and bad sign for men.In Africa, twitching in your lower eyelid signals that you will soon be shedding tears or when the upper eyelid twitches, its a sign you will meet someone unexpectedly.

WHOM SHOULD WE BELIEF?

Other superstitionsCross your fingers for good luck.If you laugh a lot you will cry after awhile.Tuesday 13th is an unlucky day.If you throw rice on a new bride and groom, they will have so many children. If you dream about a white cat, you will have good luck. And so on. I have a scientific attitude and I don't believe in any society driven superstition (like those associated with black cats and sneezing etc). I personally believe that there is no such thing as a good day or a bad day and accept that whatever happens, good or bad.. is quite just simply, your destiny, nothing more. Superstition is to religion what astrology is to astronomy: the mad daughter of a wise mother
