Procedure Details 4.1 General Principles Authorisaon by the parent/s is required for the administraon of all medicaon. This includes prescribed and non-prescribed medicaon. Authorisaon by a doctor, dispensing pharmacist or nurse is required for the administraon of all prescribed medicaon. A record of all authorisaons (verbal or wrien) must be kept by the school. Schools must only accept prescribed in date medicaon provided in the dispensed, labelled container, or the original over-the-counter packaging for non-prescribed medicaon. An official register for the administraon of medicaon to students must be maintained. It must have a record of all occasions when medicaon is administered to a student. Analgesics (such as paracetamol and ibuprofen) and naproxen (used in the treatment of menstrual pain) should not be kept in a first aid kit. These medicaons must not be given to students without authorisaon from the parent/s and the student’s medical praconer. In such cases the medicaon should be provided by the parent/s and an Administraon of Student Medicaon Authorisaon form filled in. Exeter High School will no longer supply Panadol / Ibuprofen or similar. 4. Procedure Details

4.1 General Principles

Authorisation by the parent/s is required for the administration of all medication. This includes prescribed and non-prescribed medication.

Authorisation by a doctor, dispensing pharmacist or nurse is required for the administration of all prescribed medication.

A record of all authorisations (verbal or written) must be kept by the school. Schools must only accept prescribed in date medication provided in the dispensed, labelled

container, or the original over-the-counter packaging for non-prescribed medication. An official register for the administration of medication to students must be maintained. It must

have a record of all occasions when medication is administered to a student.

The School’s Short Course Eventing is on

again at “Fairlands” on the East Tamar

Highway, Launceston. Short Course Eventing

involves the combined disciplines of dressage,

cross country and show jumping. Entry is $35 per

rider. Entries close Friday, 6th May.
