PERSONAL: Fernando Rodney and his wife, Helen, have four children…resides in Santo Domingo, DR during the offseason…is an avid fisherman and has a necklace with the teeth of some of his catches…traveled to South Korea prior to the 2014 season on a goodwill trip visiting little league teams and putting on baseball clinics.

2007: Two stints on the Tigers disabled list limited him to 48 appearances…had a 2.63 ERA (7 ER, 24.0 IP) over his final 23 games…was on DL from May 21-June 4 with biceps tendinitis and again, June 24–Aug 3 with shoulder tendinitis.

2008: Missed first 11 weeks of Tigers season with right shoulder tendinitis…took over closer role for final two months of season…allowed 5 ER in 0.1 innings over his first two appearances but had a 3.83 ERA (17 ER, 40.0 IP) the rest of the season.
