Simon IllingworthA former Detective Sergeant Simon Illingworth was bashed, threatened and intimidated by bent cops and underworld criminals, all in the line of duty. His life gives dramatic insight into Melbourne’s gangland war and the ugly world of police corruption. Simon appeared on ABC’s Australian Story which won journalism’s Gold Quill and his book Filthy Rat is an Australian best seller. Simon has numerous awards for bravery and leadership including from the Victoria Police, the Governor of Victoria, Royal Humane Society and the Sir Vincent Fairfax Fellowship. Simon uses his natural story-telling ability to get the message through. International studies have found this to be the best method of getting an idea to stick. Simon uses this technique to address, challenge and build the right organisational culture.

Heather LiubicichHeather Liubicich has been self employed for 23 years as a facilitator, delivering personal and professional development programs to a range of different sectors, through workshops and conferences. She is also a motivational speaker, believing in the positive effect we can have on each other. Personal leadership, as well as team and community development are all passions. Heather’s workshops aim to be enjoyable, memorable and meaningful – peppered with much laughter! Heather also believes in a balanced experience, thus amid the laughter there are times for serious discussion, workable strategies and the opportunity for quiet reflection. Heather seeks to link theory to practice, thereby encouraging the development of new pathways to effective interpersonal communication and highlighting the call to understanding, responsibility, kindness, accountability and awareness.

Malcolm Mayfi eldMalcolm Mayfi eld is the founder and Managing Director of Autism STAR Pty Ltd. His career includes working as a researcher in the UniSA Civil Engineering Laboratories and as a contract administrator in the construction industry. In those capacities, he has worked in teams that have built sports stadiums, high-rise buildings, power stations, and subdivisions, and rose to be highly regarded in his fi eld in the companies for which he worked.

Malcolm’s view of the world changed when he self-diagnosed his Asperger Syndrome at the age of 37. Patterns in his life that had previously been confusing at last made sense and, as part of that process of greater awareness, he realized that in order to cope and succeed as an adult and a professional, he had developed independent success strategies that could be used by others on the autism spectrum. The concept and manifestation of Autism STAR grew out of that process of self-discovery. Malcolm’s goal is to shine a light on the autism spectrum to show the world that autism is a strength to be cherished and nurtured into success for all.
