What Does It Mean to be CURIOUS?
My Question
I have always wondered about WATER.
How Might We Measure How Strong The Force is that Keeps Water Together?

Our Turn
What do we need?● Water● Pepper● Soap

Experiment Time
Research:
Find out about Surface Tension.Write out about or draw pictures that show SURFACE TENSION.
Hypothesis
Our guess about what the answer might be……-could be based on past experiences
It does not matter if it is right or wrong...it is a starting place.
We can then find out by experimenting!
Tools
● Penny● Pippette● Water

Why do we have such different numbers?
1. Errors will always happen. 2. Even if we try to repeat the exact same
experiment under the exact same conditions.
What do Errors come from?3. Errors will come from your technique in doing
the experiment, so we must try to make these errors as small as possible
What do We Do?
Take an AVERAGE.What is an average?Add up your numbers and divide by how many numbers you added together.
Example: 4 + 3 + 5 + 4 = 16 16 divided by 4 = 4
Let’s Try
Numbers to Add:
Total, Divided by 3.
Graphing
DescribeScientist ALWAYS describe what they found out from this experiment.
Use your word bank to describe1) What you did2) What you saw3) What was your average number of drops4) Was your HYPOTHESIS close or not...How much?
If you could redo?
What questions might you be CURIOUS to try and figure out next time?
