Getting in the Water

• Lay on your board and position yourself in the center.

• Nose of board should be 2 inches above water surface.

• Use the crawl stroke to paddle through the water.

Reliable Waves

• If a wave looks like a flattened A then it is uncatchable

• When a wave starts to steepen like a stepladder you can catch it.

• If it looks like a C shape it is catchable but also very dangerous.

Standing Up

Paddle for a wave.Push with both hands

off the rails (Quickly).Extend arms and bring

knees to chest (Keep weight centered.

Place feet firmly on board.

Slowly raise yourself up (Keep knees bent).
