Welcome to this interactive seminar on Yoga as TherapyBrought to you by Sri Bala Ratnam who has been an advocate in yoga therapy (yoga chikitsa) over the last 25 years. Sri Bala has pioneered the practice of Vibrational Breath

Therapy based on Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga Tradition. He has brought together experts in the fields of yoga and complementary medicine for this Seminar in order to help reveal the importance of yoga therapy in healing physical mental and emotional conditions, complementing medical treatment.

Dr. Ananda Balayogi Bhavanani 

Born and raised in India, he trained under the guidance of his father in the traditional

gurukula setting of Ananda Ashram, in Pondicherry. In addition to his extensive yoga

knowledge and experience, he also holds a medical degree and is a practicing physician.

Through decades of study and practice, he developed into a masterful classical South Indian

Carnatic vocalist and mrudangam player as well. Published Author and presenter of books

CDs and DVDs, Senior Lecturer and Chairman of I.C.Y.E.R.

 (B.A. Psychology, M.A. body-oriented Psychotherapy) is a somatic health practitioner and

yoga professor specializing in one-on-one yoga therapy for people with medical and emotional

conditions, both chronic and acute.

Yoga Bhishmacharya Sri Bala Ratnam has studied under nine distinguished gurus of the last century, including his revered 

guru Dr Swami Gitananda Giri Bhavanani, an authority on Pranayama. He is qualified from three prestigious schools of yoga 

in India and the first to qualify as a Yoga Therapist in 1984. He has successfully developed the discipline ‘Vibrational Breath 

Therapy’ based on Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga in the treatment of stress‐related and immune‐deficient conditions.  

Sri Bala is Ninety years of age and "walks his talk". He is a living testimony to the benefits of Vibrational Breath Therapy.

Function Hathenas are specially designed breath forcing

techniques that are used to produce a particular effect upon the human body. Many of them are Classical Hatha Yoga Asanas or variations of these poses, while others are designed primarily for the purpose to enable the patient to regain the normal physiological chest movement associated with good breathing. These techniques work through reflexogenic feedback to recondition and rejuvenate specific parts of the lungs and connected parts of the body and brain as required.

The dedicated practice of Yoga as a way of life is no doubt a panacea for problems related to psychosomatic, stress related disorders helping us to regain our birthright of health and happiness. It is only when we are healthy and happy that we can fulfil our destiny.

most important area in modern medicine. Known as mind-body medicine, there is now a lot of science that helps us to understand the way we are able to influence our physical selves by how we behave and what we do.

1 - 2pm: Dr Ananda- Yoga for Breathing Disorders Dyspnea, difficult breathing, is a condition as old as the

medical history of man, and some of the problems of breathing begin as early as the “first breath of life” for many a human. Not only is it a serious affliction robbing man of his health, wealth and happiness, but a major challenge to doctors and medical researchers. This is an attempt to present some methods to attain to a new state of health through the use of Rishiculture Ashtanga Yoga techniques.

2.30 – 4pm: Antonio Sausys – Yoga’s role in Cancer Therapy Coping with the secondary effects of treatment and

surgery as well as establishing a new psychosomatic dialogue with the body towards a stronger identification with the Spiritual aspects of the self that cannot have cancer.

4 – 5pm: Vibrational Breath Therapy Meditations-Stage 4 Using Breath and Sound to Heal The Chakra Healing practice in Vibrational Breath

Therapy regenerates and rejuvenates to experience a state of wellbeing and activate a process of healing. It also neutralises traumas and tensions of this and previous births stored in the Chakras (energy centres) and prevents any recurrence of the condition. It also enhances the psychic qualities of the Chakras and transforms the personality and character of the patient to combat the condition better.
