Updated SCA exams

•SCA Enterprise Linux 12 - New practicum based exam

•SCA Enterprise Storage 5

•SCE Enterprise Linux 12

Exam Retirement

The following exams have been replaced and will be retired on 31 March

2018:

• SCA in Enterprise Storage (050-743) retires and is replaced by

SCA in Enterprise Storage 5 (050-751)

• SCE in Enterprise Linux 12 (050-741) retires and is replaced by

SCE in Enterprise Linux 12 (2018 Update) (050-750)

Future Exam Releases

Caas Platform Exam:

•New question based exam

•Foundational Assessment in SUSE CaaS Platform

–New type of assessment for emerging technology areas

–Not part of overall certification program, does not contribute

to SUSE Enterprise Architect Program

Exam Platform Updates

Our exam platform provider (PSI) are implementing a new

hosting platform for exams

•Overall process should not change

•May offer new ways to provide exams in the future

–We are aware of the requests for in-classroom testing and

are actively exploring possible options

eCredits for Exams

•It is now possible for SUSE Training partners to purchase

eCredits (vouchers) for SUSE exams which can be distributed

to students

Access to Course setup files

Our current programs are designed to ensure that classes

require both an authorized SCI and an authorized Training

Partner

•Protects partners from instructors running classes

•Ensures that only authorized instructors teach official SUSE

classes

This has caused an unintended issue with course setups:

•As only SCIs can access the Virtual Machine files it has

caused some training partners to have problems setting up

classes

To resolve this we are creating a repository of VM files

required which our training partners will have direct access to.

Currently in progress, so ‘coming soon’

•Video based learning for our partners

•Ideal way for your instructors to learn about new courses or

prep for exams

•No cost for partners to use, but NOT a customer facing

offering

•Uses an LMS platform connected to an OpenStack Cloud

–Live, hands on labs are part of many courses

•Accessed via Partner Portal

•As this is a new platform it will take some time to fully

populate
