Did you know . . . The positions of Sutherlin Mayor and City Council are held by folks who volunteer their time for the betterment of our community?
All of the men and women who serve work hard at other jobs, businesses, civic endeavors and have families. They each exhibit civic pride and a commitment to keep Sutherlin moving forward as “Great Place to Live, Work and Play.”
Re-Elected Mayor Todd McKnight is joined by Council President Wayne Luzier, Councilors Tom Boggs, Frank Egbert and re-elected Councilor Forrest Stone.
New to team are Councilors Travis Tomlinson and Seth Vincent. Both of these family men were born and raised in Douglas County and have strong ties to Sutherlin.
Seth is Operations Manager for North Star Fabrication and Past Rotary President. We congratulate Seth and his wife Amber who recently welcomed their fourth child while hearing that he had won the Council seat!
Travis and his wife Kimberly Tomlinson own KLK Fashions here in downtown Sutherlin. Travis also works at United Rentals and served on the Chamber Board before he was elected to City Council.
All of the City Council Members are ready to roll up their sleeves in 2017 as they work with the City Staff to move Sutherlin forward! There are several large projects facing the City this year, including the Central Avenue improvement project which is slated to begin in May. We are glad to have these folks working together!

Sutherlin Middle School student Mason Fulton enjoyed helping out at the Sutherlin Visitors Center to earn volunteer hours for his Leadership class.
This courteous young man was welcomed with open arms by the three volunteers he worked with. Connie Russell and Judith Huntley are part of the Beta Eta Sorority that has been so great about keeping our Visitors Center opened on Saturdays. Also pictured is Betty Scheib our lovely Monday volunteer.
ALL OF OUR VOLUNTEERS are so appreciated for sharing their sparkle and kindness.
