Litany Leader: Mothers come in many different forms, and today we celebrate them all! All: Thank God for mothers! Leader: Everyone here is either a son or a daughter. All: Thank God for my mother! Leader: For those women who have joined God in Heaven and whom we miss

dearly here on earth. All: Thank God for the mothers of the past. Leader: For every woman who is working day and night to raise her children right

now. All: Thank God for the mothers of today. Leader: For all the women who are expecting, but aren’t quite mothers yet! All: Thank God for the soon-to-be-mothers. Leader: For the women who took in others’ children through adoption and foster

care. All: Thank God for the mothers with hearts so big. Leader: For those women who have lost a child to death and must carry on. All: Thank God for the mothers who are so strong. Leader: For all the women who wanted to have children of their own, but chose

instead to mother everyone else. All: Thank God for the mothers in spirit. We thank you, Lord, for the women

who have influenced our lives in so many ways. We pray that we will honor them in everything we do. Amen.

After my 40-Day Spiritual Journey to A More Generous Life book became an unexpected bestseller, I was contacted by NBC to do a TV news story. When the TV reporter interviewed me, she asked, "So, you think God wants everyone to be rich?" "No," I replied, "I don't believe that." The reporter was a little surprised by my answer. "Well, what do you believe?" "I believe that everyone needs to learn to become more generous with whatever God has given them." She then asked, "Well, didn't your bestselling book make you rich?" "No," I replied, "it helped me become more generous! The truth is that everyone of us in America is rich when you compare us to the rest of the world. What each of us needs to learn is how to become more generous with whatever God entrusted to us."

The Genius of Generosity A True Story by Brian Kluth, www.GiveWithJoy.org

Could it be that God wants to increase your standard of living so you can increase your standard of giving?

SPECIAL NOTICES

July 14-18th, Vacation Bible School for adults, children and youth.

June 8, 2014 - Pentecost Sunday - Power Sunday - Pray for One Sunday June 8 is, of course, Pentecost Sunday--the Birthday of the Church, the day on which the Holy Spirit baptized Jesus's disciples; It's also the day on which our own Bishop Gregory G.M. Ingram has challenged the entire First Episcopal Dis-trict to observe Power Sunday. It's a day on which we invite friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, and classmates to join us in worship, especially those who are open to hearing more about Jesus. In preparation for that Power Sunday, I'm inspired by the example of a NH church which asked each of their members to Pray for One. Likewise, I'm asking you to pray for one person who will accept your invitation to come on Power Sunday. (God bless you if more than one comes, but let's make our goal at least one). Can you join me in doing that--praying for one person whose life will be transformed by the Lord as they come to know Him on Power Sunday. God bless you.

Fri, May 30, 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM - Significant Woman Celebration. Join us at Bethel to celebrate the completion of the nine month spiritual journey that started in September 2013. Bring a friend and share in our fellowship! We will also have a registration table for sisters interested in joining a Significant Woman Small Group that will start in September 2014.

Jun 28, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM - Corporate prayer time. Please plan to join us for a prayer breakfast. Let us come together as a church and pray for our church.

Jun 7 - Church School convention will be in New Haven, CT. Adult, children and youth are invited to attend. See Rev. Sabrina for more information.
