Foreword

This document (EN ISO 14732:2013) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 44 "Welding and allied processes" in collaboration with Technical Committee CEN/TC 121 “Welding” the secretariat of which is held by DIN.

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2014, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by February 2014.

Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.

Introduction

This International Standard is intended to provide the basis for the mutual recognition by examining bodies of qualification related to the competence of welding operators and weld setters in the various fields of application. Tests shall by carried out in accordance with this International Standard unless more severe tests are specified by the relevant application standard, when these shall be applied.

The welding operator’s or weld setter’s ability and job knowledge continue to be approved only if the welding operators or weld setters are working with reasonable continuity on welding work within the extent of qualification. However, a functional knowledge test is mandatory.

It is presumed that the welding operator or weld setter has received training or has industrial practice within the range of qualification.

All new qualifications are to be in accordance with this International Standard from the date of issue.

At the end of its period of validity, the existing and valid qualification testing of welding operators and weld setters in accordance with the requirements of a national standard may be revalidated in accordance with this International Standard. The new range of qualification will be interpreted in accordance with the requirements of this International Standard.

IndledningHensigten med denne internationale standard er at danne grundlag for, at eksaminerende instanser gensidigt kan anerkende kvalificeringer, der vedrører svejseoperatørers og svejseopstilleres kompetence inden for de forskellige anvendelsesområder. Prøver skal afholdes i henhold til denne internationale standard, medmindre mere krævende prøver er specificeret i den relevante anvendelsesstandard, som i så fald skal følges.

Svejseoperatørens eller svejseopstillerens faglige færdigheder og jobkundskaber er kun gyldige, hvis denne vedva-rende er beskæftiget med svejsning inden for kvalificeringens gyldighedsområde. En prøve i praktiske kundskaber er dog obligatorisk.

Det antages, at svejseoperatøren eller svejseopstilleren har modtaget uddannelse i og/eller har industriel erfaring inden for kvalificeringsområdet.

Alle nye kvalifikationer skal være i overensstemmelse med denne internationale standard fra udgivelsesdatoen.

Ved udgangen af gyldighedsperioden kan eksisterende og gyldige kvalificeringsprøver for svejseoperatører og svejseopstillere i overensstemmelse med kravene i en national standard blive fornyet i overensstemmelse med denne internationale standard. Kvalificeringens nye gyldighedsområde vil blive fortolket i overensstemmelse med kravene i denne internationale standard.

Welding personnel — Qualification testing of welding operators and weld setters for mechanized and automatic welding of metallic materials

1 Scope

This International Standard specifies requirements for qualification of welding operators and also weld setters for mechanized and automatic welding.

This International Standard does not apply to personnel exclusively performing loading or unloading of the automatic welding unit.

This International Standard is applicable when qualification testing of welding operators and weld setters is required by the contract or by the application standard.

The requirements for testing of stud welding operators and setters are given in ISO 14555. The qualification and revalidation is in accordance with this International Standard.

Annex A dealing with functional knowledge forms an integral part of this International Standard. Annex B dealing with welding technical knowledge, Annex C outlining the qualification test certificate and the Bibliography are informative.

1 AnvendelsesområdeDenne internationale standard specificerer krav til kvalificering af svejseoperatører samt svejseopstillere i mekani-seret og automatisk svejsning.

Den gælder ikke for personale, som udelukkende sørger for ilægning og udtagning af emner i den automatiske svejseenhed.

Denne internationale standard er gældende, når kontrakten eller anvendelsesstandarden stiller krav om kvalifice-ring af svejseoperatører og svejseopstillere ved prøvning.

Kravene til kvalificeringsprøver for boltesvejseoperatører og -opstillere er angivet i ISO 14555. Kvalificering og for-nyet validering er i overensstemmelse med denne internationale standard.

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the following terms and definitions apply.

3.1automatic weldingwelding in which all operations are performed without welding operator intervention during the process

3.1automatiseret svejsningsvejsning, hvor alle operationer udføres uden en svejseoperatørs mellemkomst under processen

3.2mekaniseret svejsningsvejsning, hvor de påkrævede svejsebetingelser opretholdes med mekaniske eller elektroniske hjælpemidler, men hvor parametrene kan justeres manuelt under processen

3.3præproduktionssvejseprøvesvejseprøve med samme funktion som en procedureprøve, men baseret på et ikke-standard-prøveemne, som er repræsentativt for produktionsforholdene
