INTRODUCTION
Swachh bhatat mission launched on 2nd oct, 2014 by Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi.
OBJECTIVES
To make India open defecation free by 2019.
Village to be kept clean with solid and liquid waste management.
To provide toilets, separately for boys and
girls in all school by 15.8.2015
Provision under Swachh Bharat Mission
Support for community sanitary complexes to be Rs. 2.00 lakhs at a sharing ratio of 60:30:10.
IEC at 8% of total project cost, with 3% at central level and 5% at state level.
outputs (construction) and outcomes (usage)will be monitored.
Strategy
Create demand by Triggering ‘Behaviour change’ by intensifying IEC campaign and Inter Personal communication.
IEC/IPC programme will be assisted by Multilateral Agencies like UNICEF, World bank etc...
Mechanism of ‘Trigger’ plus incentives to quality toilets.
Recent initiatives
Provision of financial support for Household toilets through NABARD.
Guideline for sanitation of specially abled people under preparation.
Guideline for participation of NGO’s under consideration.
Guideline for MHM under consideration.
Celebrities who contributed for swachh bharat.
1• Measuring health impacts as
outcome indicator.
2• Giving incentives to house
holds.
3• Incentives to the GP’s for use of
sanitation or other village work.
India needs a change and such cleanliness drive needs
building trust with everyone. Clean India will not
only make our surroundings better but it will also cut
down the healthcare cost.
For the success of this campaign every Indian will have
to come forward and contribute.
