Swachh Pakhwada celebration at Assi Ghat, Varanasi on 20.03.2017
An awareness raising programme for cleaniness of our Holy river Ganga was
organized by the National Mission for Clean Ganga on March 20, 2017 at Assi
Ghat, Varanasi. The programme was attended by School Children, “Swachata
Doots” of Varanasi Nagar Nigam, NGO’s, General Public etc.. The programme
was also attended by the following officers of CWC:
1. Shri S.K.Sibal, Chief Engineer, UGBO, CWC, Lucknow
2. Shri Anupam Prasad, SE, H.O.Circle, CWC, Varanasi
3. Shri Shiva Prakash, SE (C ), UGBO, CWC, Lucknow
4. Shri Rajendra Yadav, JE, MGD-III, Varanasi
Following events were organized to raise the awareness:-
1. Swachhata Pledge
2. Awareness speech by NGO’s and officials from Varanasi Nagar Nigam.
3. Formation of human-chain and rally along the Varanasi ghats for raising
awareness on making our holy river Ganga Clean.
4. T-Shirts and Caps with “Ganga Swachhata Pakhwada 16-31 March 2017”
were distributed among the participants.
