MATHEMATICS

Students wishing to enroll in a math course must demonstrate their eligibility by either completing the appropriate prerequisite course with a grade of “C” or higher or by an appropriate score on the Computerized Placement Test (CPT). Student support for math courses is available at all of the LBCC campuses. These are open-study areas where students may work, use learning resources, and receive assistance with their math courses.

Drop-In Math Help at the Sweet Home Center: The Math Help Desk is located in room SHC-102

Tuesday and Thursday .................................................................................5:30 to 8:30 p.m. See other sections in this schedule for drop-in math help times at the other campuses.

SELF-DIRECTED MATH COURSES LBCC offers MTH 020, MTH 060, and MTH 095 classes in a self-directed format. • Self-directed classes all have an on-line component and require testing at one of the

LBCC campuses.• There are no class meetings, students contact their instructor via email and/or phone.• It is strongly recommended that students consider whether they need a structured

learning environment before they register in a self-directed course.• Classes in the self-directed format offer students a great deal of flexibility, but students

should plan on spending more time than if they were in a lecture section.• Students should have internet access at home or be able to spend at least 8 to 12 hours

per week in a computer lab working on this class.
