SWF was first imported into the United States by Scott Colman in the late 1990s. Scott had been in the commercial embroidery machine business for years and noticed that there was a real hole in the market between expensive, but reliable Japanese and German embroidery machines and the cheap Chinese machines that were just entering the market.
The SWF Embroidery Machine line offered the reliability of much more expensive machines, but at a price point more home and small embroidery shops could afford.
