Our Aquatic Programs are purposefully
designed to increase awareness of water safety to reduce the
risk of drowning.
We know that exposing children to water and increasing
swimming skills as early as 6 months reduces the risk of
drowning. Our parent child classes are the perfect way to start
your child’s aquatic journey!
As a part of a water front community,
our swim lessons are designed to be the
first line of defense in water safety for all ages, infants to
adults!

The Valparaiso Family YMCA offers a variety of mind/body personal training to help you relax, build strength and improve flexibility! PILATES REFORMER is a system of controlled movements performed on a special bed or frame with a moveable, sliding carriage or platform. Using cords and pulleys – and springs to increase and decrease resistance – provides a safe, effective way to strengthen your core, lower back, and abs, and build uniform, lean muscles. ANOTHER BENEFIT OF PILATES REFORMER IS THAT ANYONE CAN DO IT. Each exercise and movement can be scaled to fit each person’s abilities and fitness level. Because it is so safe and gentle, it’s great for physical therapy, and for people who are recovering from injuries or dealing with issues such as bad knees or shoulder problems. Pilates Reformer also provides effective cross-training for walkers, cyclists, runners, and swimmers.
YOGA & PILATES MATWORK is one-on-one training for those who would like to become more comfortable with yoga or Pilates before attending their first class or for those looking to advance their practice in a private setting.
PRENATAL/POSTNATAL YOGA OR PILATES will focus on the exercises for both yoga and/or Pilates that are most suitable during and after pregnancy. Bring a friend and sign up for the buddy personal training packages.
REIKI Experience the holistic Japanese technique of Reiki and its benefits. Some of those benefits include stress release, pain and overall healing of the Mind, Body and Soul. Come and experience a peaceful healing.

HOPE
2 out of 5 households in Valparaiso are one paycheck away from financial hardship or are living below the poverty line - a reality too many in Valparaiso have experienced.
The Y is ramping up our efforts to make sure every family or individual can come back to the Y regardless of financial situation.
The Annual Campaign is how you can ensure everyone regardless of age, income or background has the opportunity to learn, grown and thrive with the Y. If you are able or when the time is right, you can support this effort with a gift online, at the front desk, or by contacting Mackenna Kispert at [email protected].
The Valparaiso Family YMCA has a long history of raising hope. • Memberships at the Y raise a healthy mind, body and spirit• Y Child Care programs raise strong kids, prepared to excel in school and in the world• Y programs like swim lessons and youth sports raise qualities children need like teamwork, leadership and self-esteem
• Programs like LIVESTRONG® at the Y for cancer survivors raise community and support
And you, as a supporter of the Y, have made all of this a possibility!
