ADVANCED SQUADReport by Tom Peddell

All my swimmers have worked extremely hardthis month, particularly those that are topreparing for the Counties at the end ofFebruary and through March. EdwardRichardson and Owen Davies have even beento taking part in training extra sessions with JPsquad and coach Mark Rooks to do this.

I would like to say a very well done to myswimmers from Advanced Squad,

who participated inthe recent victoryat the 2010

Gemini Trophy!

However, for me the swimmer thatis going to be the

SWIMMER OF THE MONTHfor Advanced Squad is…

OWEN DAVIESOWEN DAVIESOWEN DAVIESOWEN DAVIES

for his sheer effort, brilliantattendance record and for

staying focussed

Oliver Jermy achieved 2nd Place in the Boys 12 yrs 400m Freestyle. Fantastic result, well done Oliver. Both

James Faull and James Bonnett were in 14th and 24th place respectively. Oliver Odell was placed 8

th in Boys 13

yrs 400 Freestyle. James Faull was awesome in the 12 yrs Boys 1500m Freestyle and came in 45th overall. Our

Boy teams aged 9-11 for the Relays were on Sunday 28th and they had a brilliant swim, storming ahead and

winning both their Freestyle Relay and Medley Relay heats However, it was extremely disappointing and sofrustrating, that both teams were DQ’d on technicalities. Based on their times, both the Relay & Medley teamwould have been up for 3

rd Place overall. WE ARE PROUD OF YOU BOYS, WHAT AN OUTSTANDING

EFFORT!Not to be outdone by the boys, Sophie Ormston got 2

nd Place for 800 freestyle Age 16 yrs, with time of

10.00.18, which is a 16 second PB off her long course time. This may be a club record too. Well done Sophie! The girls 13/u relay team competed strongly and consistently and finished in 14

th for the Freestyle relay and 18

th

overall for the Medley Relay. Well done girls.

2nd Place for OLIVER JERMY & SOPHIE ORMSTON…

and a possible 3rd Place for the Boys 9-11 yrs Freestyle Relay & Medley Team
