Please pray for Brendan (Barney) Groarke, Bridge St; Rosaleen Groarke, Culmore; Veronica Maye, Aclare (mother of Martina O’Hara, Carrowberry) and Patrick (Paddy) Durkin, Kinaffe, Hayestown, Co Meath and Cricklewood, London (son of the late Michael and Annie Durkin and brother of the late Michael Durkin).May they rest in the peace of Christ. We welcome into the Christian community Padraig Michael Durkan, Steeple Village who was baptised recently in Meelick Church. Congratulations and every blessing to Cathal Crowley, Co Clare and Danielle Maguire, Co Fermanagh who were married recently in Swinford church. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament: From this weekend, adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Sundays and Thursdays in Swinford Church will take place in the Prayer Room. Elections to the Parish Pastoral Council: A reminder to return ballot papers for the Parish Pastoral Council to the church this weekend. Please place the completed ballot papers in the box provided in each church. If you did not pick up a ballot paper last weekend or have forgotten to bring it to Mass this weekend, you may complete a ballot paper in the church after Mass. Thanks to all parishioners for your co-operation in this matter. Fr Peyton Centre 20th Anniversary: The Fr Peyton Centre are celebrating their 20th Anniversary on Sunday 14th October. Starting at 2pm with an exhibition on the centre’s 20 year history and also on the Rosary Rallies in Ireland. The Eucharist will be celebrated at 3pm, followed by a short Play on Fr Peyton’s life performed by students of Attymass NS. Light refreshments served. All are welcome. Contact 096-45374 for more information. A day in Honour of Our Lady-“Calling all Families”. Consecrate your families to Our Lady on Saturday, 6th October in Knock Shrine at the 3pm Pilgrimage Mass. Followed by testimony, food and music in the Rest and Care Centre and concludes with a Holy Hour to pray for our Priests, Bishops and their Dioceses. Please contact 094-9375993 for more information. Bumbleance Fundraising Dance: In aid of a new Bumbleance for Co. Mayo and also serving parts of Sligo and Galway in the Ocean Sands Hotel on Saturday 6th October at 9.30pm till late. Starring Matthew O’Donnell supported by Kelly’s Heroes and Pat’s Country Roadshow. Tickets €15 (at the door on the night). Go for Life and Boccia games in the Cultural Centre on Thursday 11th October from 10.am to 12.30pm. Over 55's individuals, groups, new members always welcome. Entry €2 Refreshments served. Annual Mass: There will be Mass for all deceased committee members of Swinford Agricultural Show on Friday morning the 5th October at 10am in Swinford Church. Swinford Tidy Towns held our annual Church gate collection recently in Swinford. Thanks to everybody who contributed a total of €430.58 in donations over the weekend. GAA 50/50: This week’s draw was held in Whitehouse and Liz Healy of Laughtadurkan won €553. Next draw is in Quinns on 2nd Oct. Thank You: Down syndrome mayo would like to thank the parishioners of Swinford for their generous support last weekend at the church gate collection. Total raised was €743. Meelick ICA Guild: There next meeting will be held on Wednesday 3rd October at 8pm in Meelick Community Centre. All welcome. Enquiries: Judith 086-0749103. Card Game: 25 Card Game will resume in Meelick Community Centre on Tuesday 9th October at 9pm. All are welcome to attend. Comhaltas branch AGM: The AGM of Michael Davitt branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann will take place in Swinford NS on Wednesday evening October 3rd at 8.30pm. New branch members always welcome.
