DAY 1 – ARRIVAL IN CHUR Transfer by train to Chur. If time allows a guided tour of the historic city centre comes highly recommended. Discover 5000 years of history in 2 hours with the free audio guide which can be downloaded in advance from the Chur Tourism website. Overnight in Chur.

DAY 2 – BERNINA EXPRESS EXCURSION Return journey on the Bernina Express to Tirano. The legendary railway line has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site. The spectacular track with the world-renowned viaducts combines seamlessly with the pristine mountain landscape, creating the perfect balance between beautiful nature and ingenious engineering. Once you arrive in Tirano there is about an hour leisure time to explore or for a quick lunch before you travel back. Overnight in Chur.

DAY 3 – GLACIER EXPRESS FROM CHUR TO BRIG A fascinating rail journey on the

slowest express train in the world, with unrivalled views on the 4½ hour journey from Chur to Brig. Through the impressive Rhine gorge, over the Oberalp pass (2,033m/6,670ft) and along the deep valley of the Rhône, the Glacier Express travels through an incredibly fascinating and impressive part of the Alps. Arrive in Brig in the afternoon which leaves time to explore the lovely old town with stately houses and cosy inns or visit the baroque Stockalper palace. Overnight in Brig.

DAY 4 – ZERMATT & GORNERGRAT The world famous resort is located at the foot of the Matterhorn and can only be reached by train. The excursion to the Gornergrat is one of the most popular and truly spectacular experiences in Switzerland. The platform on the Gornergrat offers the best view towards the Matterhorn and the surrounding alpine peaks. Overnight in Brig.

DAY 2 – LAKE GENEVA – CHÂTEAU DE CHILLON – ROCHERS-DE-NAYE Montreux is the heart of the Swiss Riviera. Visit the famous Château de Chillon before you travel on the cog railway to the peak of Rochers-de-Naye with its unique panorama over Lake Geneva and the Alps. DAY 4 – ZERMATT Travel to Zermatt by train. The impressive Matterhorn towers in the background of Zermatt, one of the best-known resorts in Switzerland. Zermatt has a lively, sparkling atmosphere quite different to other mountain resorts. Its picturesque centre is a joy to explore on foot: traffic-free, only electric cars and horse-drawn carriages are allowed! The classic town centre is maintained in a traditional style, with typical Swiss houses and shop fronts lining the streets. Optional excursion to the Gornergrat can be arranged.

DAY 5 – FUN ON MOUNT TITLIS GLACIER Snow and ice await you at the top of Mt. Titlis. Travel by train to the mountain resort of Engelberg. Take a leisurely stroll through the resort before taking the 3 sets of gondolas to the 3,020m high peak of Mount Titlis. Take the ice-flyer over the glacier’s crevasses, have some fun with the snow toys in the Glacier park and walk the Titlis Cliff walk – Europe’s highest suspension bridge. Overnight in Lucerne.

DAY 6 – HORSE-DRAWN SLEIGH RIDE ON MOUNT RIGI Journey by boat from Lucerne to Vitznau and by cogwheel train to Rigi Kaltbad. From here take a horse-drawn carriage or sleigh to Rigi First for a hearty Cheese Fondue at restaurant Bärenstube. On days when the horse-drawn

DAY 2 – HORSE-DRAWN SLEIGH RIDE Descent by funicular or toboggan (small suppl.) to the highest town in Europe, Davos. DAY 3 – SCENIC ROUTE TO LAKE GENEVA The Glacier Express may not be the quickest route but certainly the most scenic with breath-taking views along the way. Overnight in Montreux.

DAY 4 – WINTER FUN IN GSTAAD Travel by Golden Pass train to the chalet town of Gstaad. Well known for its vast ski area the picture postcard winter sports resort is equally attractive to non-skiers, with it beautiful panoramic setting amidst the pristine alpine winter scenery. Soak up the atmosphere, go on one of the many winter walking trails or simply enjoy lunch in one of the excellent restaurants long established here. In the evening return to Montreux.

DAY 5 – MONTREUX & NEUCHÂTEL In the morning take time to explore Montreux with its serene lakeside promenade. In the afternoon board a train for the short transfer to Neuchâtel. Overnight in Neuchâtel.

DAY 1 – ARRIVE IN ENGELGERG Arrival in Switzerland and onward travel by rail to Engelberg. Check in, and enjoy a first stroll round the village before settling back into the hotel.

DAY 2 – EASY WINTER WALKING & EXPLORING Take a cable-car ride up mount Brunni. This area is known as the ‘sunny side’ of Engelberg! Take a walk through the snowy landscape from Ristis to Brunni, from where you will enjoy great views of Mount Titlis and the alps. After a lunch on the mountain, take a cable-car back to Engelberg, and walk the few minutes to Engelberg’s monastery. Here you will have a self-guided tour of the cheese factory, and you can visit the beautiful church belonging to the monastery.

DAY 3 – SNOW & FUN ON MOUNT TITLIS Today you will have an unforgettable trip to the top of Mount Titlis at 3,020 m by revolving cable-car. At the top,

you can explore the glacier cave, and experience the Titlis Cliff Walk – Europe’s highest suspensionbridge. After some time at thetop, take the gondola downto the middle station, Trübsee,where you can visit the Igloovillage. You can also try out skiinghere, with a 1 hour beginner skiexperience included.
