actions against unauthorized hawking; • implementation through “Clean-up Marshals” by private

security agencies• Secondary storage bins of capacity 1.1m3 • CBO’s are allowed to collect user charge from beneficiaries

(Rs 10 per household per month)• Rs. 2500/- per 1000 population is paid by MCGM to CBOs

per month (10% adl for hilly area).• Rs. 370/- per 1000 population is paid to CBOs per month

for implements.• Refuse transfer station to be operated on “Build, own &

Operate” basis for a period of 10 years. The capacity of the transfer station is 750 MT/day, which can be enhanced to 900 MT/day.

• Building capacities of stakeholders through training/workshops and exposure visits and media campaigns.

• Neighbourhood groups, Mahila Samitis, Yuvak Sanghs and various community based organizations have been sensitized about ideal SWM practices

• Introduction of Social Audit, whereby the community supervises the performance of sweepers/drain cleaners, beat wise, go a long way in maintaining an effective monitoring and accountability system.
