Postsecondary completion rates are alarmingly low. 59% complete a 4-year degree within 6 years. 39% complete within 4 years.

This rates are worse for low-income students, first-generation college-goers, and students of color, who also enroll in college at far lower rates.

Postsecondary completion is a national policy focus with implications for global competitiveness and social well-being.

The Problem

College Forward, Degrees of Change, and I Know I Can are some of hundreds of college access and success programs that are part of the National College Access Network.

These programs provide specialized early awareness information, pre-college advising on admissions and financial aid, and mentoring services that dramatically raise college entrance and completion rates.

The Players

Drawing on data and technology, college access and success programs can improve program performance and serve more students.

As elsewhere in education, the thoughtful and applied usage of data is changing the approach to college access and success.

The Approach
