Volume 31 November 14, 2019 Issue 46 Worship, Class, Luncheon & Singing Sunday, November 17, Sco Jefcoat will be preaching for us. We appre- ciate Sco preparing lessons to challenge us, and all the work he does with our college students. Sco and Courtney and their family have been a true blessing for Sycamore. We thank them for their reless work. Following our worship, we always encourage everyone to stay for Bible class. We have wonderful teachers preparing great lessons for all ages. If you placed membership at Sycamore within the last year, you are invited to a luncheon aſter Bible class. It will be held in the Youth Horizons Room. Elders, deacons, ministers and their wives are asked to aend as well. This will be a me we recognize and honor our new members. Then tonight we will meet at 5:00pm for a night of singing praises to God. Please pack the front of the auditorium where we can edify each other in fellowship and in song. It will be a great day! Wednesday Night Bible Class Change As we do each year on the week of Thanksgiving, our Wednesday night Bible study will move nights. So we will meet on Tuesday, November 26, 7:00pm. We hope this will help those who travel for the holidays. Toys of Joy Names If you did not get a name for Christmas for our Toys of Joy, please see Bryan or Amanda Street. As we did last year, we will purchase giſts for all the needy children at Sycamore Elementary School. Please bring giſts wrapped and labeled with the childs name on each giſt by December 1. Bring them to the main foyer. If you would rather give a financial dona- on, we do need money for care packages. It would be greatly appreci- ated. See Bryan and Amanda for any quesons. This Toys of Joy event is on Saturday, December 7. Lads to Leaders Kick-off We will have our annual Lads to Leaders Kickoff on Sunday, November 24, in the Youth Center immediately following Bible classes. We encour- age anyone who would like to parcipate in or help with Lads to Lead- ers this year to aend. Or if you would simply like to learn more about the program, please plan to aend. Informaon about the 2020 Annual Convenon and event signup will be provided. Lunch will be served, and there will be excing door prizes! Dont miss the opportunity too sign up for this great program. Building Fund Over the years Sycamore has had to expand it facilies to keep up with its growth and an aging building, but none of those projects have ex- ceeded the magnitude and expense of this one. We have been short of classroom space and fellowship room space. We have been inadequate in being handicap accessible and elderly-friendly. We have not had a good area where we can do community outreach. We have had outdat- ed rooms for some me now. We have not had a real green space on our property. All that will be changed. We urge everyone to prayerfully give as God has purposed in your heart. We cannot complete this pro- ject without your generous donaons. Kevin

Worship, Class, Luncheon & Singing Sunday, November 17, Scott Jefcoat will be preaching for us. We appre-ciate Scott preparing lessons to challenge us, and all the work he does with our college students. Scott and Courtney and their family have been a true blessing for Sycamore. *Judy Chambers will be admitted to Vanderbilt in a cou-ple of weeks if her health condition does not improve. *Charlotte Pierce will be seeing her doctor this week about options concerning a spot on her lung. *Larry Copeland’s mother, Glenda Copeland, is at CRMC . *Jim Way is at CRMC in room 619. *Jack Wilkerson, cousin of Connie Vaughn, had a stroke and is at CRMC in room 549. *Jerry Maynard is having reactions to some of his medi-cations. *Karen Shatley, daughter of C.D. & Janice Robinson, is improving. *Marjorie Brewer, sister of Mary Alice Thomas, is in a nursing home in Ohio. Samuel Grandell, 2 yr. old nephew of Sarah Scoles, is battling Leukemia. *Doris Casteel, niece of Glendora Casteel, is battling cancer. *Tyler Ford, nephew of Tracy Mabry, is battling Hodg-kin's Lymphoma.

Sympathy

Sympathy is extended to Debbie Cumby and Pearl Flatt in the passing of their nephew, Donnie Flatt. His funeral was on the 11th. Sympathy is also extended to Bryan Street and family in the passing of his grandmother, Vannie Street. Her fu-neral was on the 13th.

The Ladies Monthly Breakfast is Wednesday, the 20th, at Grandma’s Pancake House beginning at 9:00am. There will not be a monthly breakfast in December, but we will resume in January.

Birth Announcement

Congratulations to Jerry & Chris Swallows on the birth of their son, Mason Gray Swallows. He was born on the 8th. He weighed 7 pounds 6 ounces and was 19 inches long. The proud grandparents are Ted and Doris Roberts.

Christmas Gift Bags For Shut-ins

It’s time to start gathering the items to put in the Shut-ins Christmas Gift bags. Suggestion lists will be on the “sign-in stand” in the foyer. Please be sure to wrap each individual item and label it with a post it or something we can pull off before bagging. Gifts need to be brought to the back of the auditorium by Sunday December 1st. You may also give money (by Nov. 20th) to Mary Alice Thomas to purchase needed items. We will meet at Kerri Reeder’s house on Tuesday, December 3, 6:00pm,to as-semble the bags. Bring finger foods or dessert and enjoy the fun and fellowship!

Shower Ministry Guidelines

The Shower Ministry has been revised and a list of ladies by month is posted in the foyer along with shower guidelines. If you know of anyone who is a member here at Sycamore who is getting married or expecting their first child while at Sycamore, please let one of the ladies on the list know. Thank You!!

Thanksgiving Singing

This year’s singing will be at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ on November 24, 6:00pm. There will be no even-ing services at Sycamore that night. We hope everyone will come and enjoy the incredible worship to God and wonderful fellowship with our local brethren!

This event is June 27-July 2. It is at Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL. Your cost is $125.
