History : This game has its base in Poona, Maharashtra. Deccan Gymkhana arranged a conference in Poona in which rules of this game were framed. In 1960 Kho-Kho federation of India was established and in the same year the first National Championship for men was organized. First National Championship for women was started in 1961. Kho-Kho was introduced as a demonstration game in Berlin Olympic held in 1936 and Asian games in Delhi in 1982. However, this game is not included in either Olympic or Asian Games.
