This class is primarily an oral grammar class which encourages students to speak in controlled situations. However, the instructor should have made every effort to confer with the student regarding class attendance and its importance before dropping the student." 15) School policy: A student must attend the first class meeting to hold his/her place in class. 16) Weight of quizzes and examinations: Grading Rubric: Written exams, homework= 50% of total grade 90-100% = A 60-69% = D Oral participation = 30% of total grade 80-89% = B 59-below = F Final exam = 20% of total grade 70-79% = C TOTAL =100% 17) Other factors which may affect your final grade include attitude and class participation. 18) Homework assignments are due on the day assigned, not later. Late homework may mean a lower grade. 19) Attendance for the final class meeting, Thursday, May 25, is required. There will be a final graded activity on that day, and students who do not attend will receive a zero for the activity, which will cause their class grade to be reduced one full grade. (That is, an A will be changed to a B, a B to a C, a C to a D, or a D to an F.)
