    Hi Aman,

A lot of questions! Let me answer them through a series of posts.

One pipe fills in 4 hrs and another in 5hrs when they both work alternately how much time wilbe taken to fill the tank

LCM of 3 nos is 120 which of the following no must not be their HCF a. 8 , b.24 c.12 d.24 and30

    2. I don't think this question is correct. For example, evaluating the options

    (a) numbers can be 8, 8, 120

    (b) numbers can be 24, 24, 120

    (c) numbers can be 12, 12, 120

    (d) numbers can be 30, 30, 120

All these options satisfy the given conditions of HCF and LCM. I think something is missing. Two trains from the points A and B moving in opposite direction , at the point they meet thesecond train travels 120 kms more than the first. The speeds are 50kmph and 60kmphrespectively find the distance between A and B?

One monkey climbs a poll at the rate of 6mts/min and fell down 3mts in the alternately. Lengthof the poll is 60 mts , how much time it will take to reach the top?a. 31 b.33 c.37 d.40

The volume and the radius of both cone and sphere are equal , then find the ratio of height of tcone to the diameter of the sphere?

A and B started a business with 1500 and 2500 and got a profit 800 rs. Half of the profit is shaequally the remaining is shared according to their investment . Find their profits.

    7. Half of the profit, i.e. Rs 400, is shared equally. Therefore, A and B get Rs 200 each. Theother half is shared in the ratio 1 500/2 500 = 3/5. Therefore, A gets

    (3/8) 400 = Rs 150, and B gets Rs 250. Therefore, A gets Rs 350 in all and B gets Rs 450 iall.

    A:B =2:3 and B:C=5:6 then find A:B:C

A n amount of 64 Rs has to become 125 in 3 years in compound interest , find the rate of interest?

    9. 25%. Make the equation and take cube root both sides.T he prime no., which is greater than 6 when divide by 6 will always gives the remainder

    11. A prime number (except 2 and 3) can always be written in the form 6n 1. Therefore, thremainder will always be 1 or 5.

Length of a rectangle is increased by 50% and breadth is decreased by 25% what is thedifference in the area

    12. New length = 3l/2 and new breath = 3b/4.

Therefore, new area = 9lb/8 = lb + lb/8. This is a gain of 12.5%Rest in the subsequent posts..

    Total Gadha

    13. Originally, there are 12 students ahead of X and 16 students behind him. Therefore, the totnumber of students are = 12 + 16 + 1 = 29 (including X himself)

After the exam, there are 7 students ahead of X and 12 students behind him in the passed list. Therefore, total number of students who passed = 7 + 12 + 1 = 20.

Therefore, the number of students who failed = 9

    14. Let the discount be given on the marked price of Rs 100.

The price after first discount of 20% = Rs 80.

The price after second discount of 15% = Rs 68.

    Therefore percentage discount = 32%

    15. Let the two digit number be ab, where a and b are single digits not equal to zero.--> 10a + b = 4(a + b) and 10a + b + 9 = 10b + a

    The first equation gives 6a = 3b or 2a = b --> the numbers can be 12, 24, 36 and 48. Only 12satisfies the second condition.

    21. X men work (why do X-men have to work? I thought they were movie stars :p ) for X daysproduce X products.

--> 1 man will have to work for X2 days to produce X products.

--> 1 man will have to work for X days to produce 1 product.

--> 1 man will have to work for XY days to produce Y products.

--> Y men will have to work for X days to produce Y products.

    Answer: X days

    23. Let the cost price be 100. Therefore, the marked price is Rs 135. The discount of 15% on 1= Rs 20.25. Therefore, the product is sold at Rs (135 - 20.25) = Rs 114.75.

Hence, the profit percentage is 14.75%.

    24. 3: 226. Not getting a whole number solution for these. My solution is coming to be 13.65men.

    25. 12 days

    27. Let the CP be Rs100. The selling price in the first case is Rs12 and in the second case is Rsand he gets Rs24 less.

He gets Rs24 less on a CP of Rs100.He will get Rs6 less on a CP of Rs25.

    28. Couldnt understand the question.
