SYR (sire) is a unique Celtic Folk Rock band from Columbia, SC. Taking inspiration from Celtic history, stories and myths, SYR blends their own unique musical backgrounds to create powerful songs with themes of battle, love, loss, and victory. Front man Kyle MacCallum founded SYR on the belief that the rich heritage of the Celtic Nations could be brought to life in a contemporary musical style with broad audience appeal.

From humble beginnings at pubs and local venues, SYR’s high-energy perfomance has become a welcome addition to larger Celtic Festivals and events. The band has been featured in Irish Music Magazine, on 67 Music Podcast, Marc Gunn’s Celtic Music Podcast, and others. They’ve shared the stage with such established groups as Albannach, Seven Nations, Enter the Haggis, Red Hot Chili Pipers, The Glengarry Bhoys, The Steel City Rovers, the Byrne Brothers, and many, many more.
