System Optimization Program
ENTERPRISE VIDEO SYSTEMS
When you purchase a System Optimization Program from
Honeywell, the following services are available. A full
report of potential issues and recommended action is
provided after each system's review.
SYSTEMS HEALTH CHECK
During the System Optimization visit, a Honeywell
technician will perform routine maintenance checks on the
Honeywell enterprise system. Adjustments and updates
will be made as necessary.
Server hardware: (applies only to hardware purchased from Honeywell)
• Clean server air filters and check for excessive dust
• Record temperature of area around and withinequipment rack
• Update operating system patches as needed
• Check Windows event logs for recorded errors orwarnings
• Check RAID devices for functionality, RAID sets, logicaldrives, sync rates and health of cabling
• Check RAID device event history
• Upgrade encoder firmware as needed
• Upgrade server CPU and memory usage
• Upgrade server disk space usage
• Monitor and record network switch CPU and portutilization
• Verify that only Honeywell certified software is installedon system
The Honeywell System Optimization Program is
a comprehensive service program that maintains
the health of your systems and ensures that
they are running at peak performance. As
technology continues to evolve, today’s security
management systems are increasing in size and
complexity. The integration between software and
hardware platforms on these systems requires
routine service and maintenance to ensure
business continuity. The System Optimization
Program provides highly skilled support
professionals to periodically perform a series of
maintenance functions, run diagnostics and
make performance enhancements.
The System Optimization Program analyzes all
aspects of a system including operating systems,
applications software and database files and
structures. The periodic maintenance visits by a
Honeywell support professional also give the
customer the opportunity to have a direct
connection to Honeywell. Our support
professionals will initiate a Q & A session where
the customer can ask questions, request a
demonstration, or request customization or new
features in the products.
Workstation hardware:(applies only to hardware purchased from Honeywell)
• Clean workstation air filters and check for excessive dust
• Record temperature of area around and within equipment rack
• Update operating system patches as needed
• Check Windows event logs for recorded errors orwarnings
• Check workstation CPU and memory usage
• Check workstation disk space usage
• Perform Windows disk optimization (if applicable)
• Monitor and record network switch CPU and portutilization
• Verify that only Honeywell certified software is installed on system
Software:
• Software functionality – Review live and recorded videofrom 25% of camera input
• Verify ringbuffer status for each server
- Retention periods per server
- Amount of free space
- All logical drives assigned as ringbuffers
• Verify all software updates to recent minor and patchversions are allowed by customer maintenance date
• Verify time synchronization is functioning
• Review correct Alpha Frame Rate Reduction configured
• Test and verify network video failover functionality (ifapplicable)
• RAID and system monitoring functionality (if applicable)
• Verify integration to matrix switch (if applicable)
• Verify integration to IDM (if applicable)
SOFTWARE UPDATES
During the System Optimization visit, the Honeywell
technician will inspect all enterprise network devices for the
latest minor software patch revisions as defined by the
current software license agreement.
CUSTOMER RELATIONS
• Customer Q & A
As Honeywell customers use our systems on a daily basis,
they may have requests, questions about product features,
or they may simply want to share information with us.
During the regularly scheduled System Optimization visit,
our Honeywell technicians sit down with our customers to
better understand their needs and requirements. Honeywell
may also have new information to share with our customers
regarding upcoming product releases, industry technology
trends or best practices witnessed in the field.
