Press play on the tutorial and pause it to complete the cheat sheet as you go.

Note: You're not expected to learn everything 100% the first time. Anythingnew that we set out to learn takes time.

So no beating yourself up if at first, it seems overwhelming.

Also, use Revision Station 4: The K.I.N.G.S. Formula to help tackle and unpicksome of the cheat sheet questions.

The multiple-choice answers are upside down on each cheat sheet page tocheck your knowledge.

MQ1: The Sagittal plane mainly deals with which joint actions?

A. Adduction and AbductionB. Flexion and ExtensionC. Internal and External RotationD. Inversion and Eversion

MQ2: There are 3 planes of movement, these are fixed and joint actionscan only happen in specific planes?

A. True B. False

MQ3: If you stood in front or behind a client, what plane of movement are you viewing?

A. Sagittal PlaneB. Anterior-posterior AxisC. Frontal PlaneD. Transverse Plane

Planes Of MovementThe correct answer to MQ1 is B, MQ2 is A, MQ 3 is C.

Sagittal Plane Transverse Plane Frontal Plane

Medial-Lateral Axis Longitudinal Axis Anterior-Posterior Axis

ParallelCoaching

MQ1: If a client was performing a press-up, which plane of movement are they moving in?

A. Sagittal Plane B. Anterior-posterior Axis C. Frontal Plane D. Transverse Plane

MQ2: If a client was performing a pull-up, which plane of movement are they moving in?

A. Sagittal Plane B. Anterior-posterio AxisC. Frontal Plane D. Transverse Plane

MQ3: If a client was performing a Russian Twist, which plane of movement are they moving in?

A. Sagittal Plane B. Anterior-posterio AxisC. Frontal Plane D. Transverse Plane

Planes Of Movement ContinuedThe correct answer to MQ1 is A, MQ2 is C, MQ 3 is D.

Axis Of Movement The correct answer to MQ1 is A, MQ2 is A, MQ 3 is C.

MQ1: The Medial-Lateral Axis moves within what plane of movement?

A. Sagittal PlaneB. Anterior-posterior AxisC. Frontal PlaneD. Transverse Plane

MQ2: There are 3 Axis of movement, these are fixed to the 3 planes of movement and therefore fixed to specific joint actions as well?

A. True B. False

MQ3: If you stood to the side of a client in the sagittal plane, what axis of movement is the client moving in?

A. Longitudinal AxisB. Anterior-posterior AxisC. Medial-Lateral AxisD. Transverse Plane

Sagittal Plane Transverse Plane Frontal Plane

Medial-Lateral Axis Longitudinal Axis Anterior-Posterior Axis

ParallelCoaching

MQ1: If a client was performing a Back Extension, which axis of movement are they moving in?

A. Longitudinal Axis B. Anterior-posterior AxisC. Medial-Lateral Axis D. Sagittal Plane

MQ2: If a client was performing a pull-up, which plane of movement and axis of movement are they moving in?

A. Transverse Plane | Longitudinal Axis B. Frontal Plane | Anterior-posterior AxisC. Sagittal Plane | Medial-Lateral Axis D. Sagittal Plane | Transverse Plane

MQ3: If a client was performing a Squat, which plane of movement and axis of movement are they moving in?

A. Sagittal Plane | Longitudinal Axis B. Sagittal Plane | Anterior-posterior AxisC. Sagittal Plane | Medial-Lateral Axis D. Sagittal Plane | Transverse Plane

Planes Of Movement ContinuedThe correct answer to MQ1 is C, MQ2 is B, MQ 3 is C.

Joint Range Of Movement (ROM)The correct answer to MQ1 is D, MQ2 is A.

Active:

Define Passive and Active Range of Movement?

Passive:

MQ1: If an advanced client had a poor range of movement in the hamstring what could a fitness professional assist with?

A. Mainatinance Stretching B. Static StretchingC. Mobility Work D. PNF Stretching

MQ2: Developing a client's range of movement is beneficial because it allows the joint and muscle around it to work optimally at their full potential?

A. True B. False

Why Are Planes & Axis Important?

The body is 3-dimensional... and this is depicted by the 3 planes and 3 axis of movement.

Every joint in the body has the capacity to move in 2 or more planes and axis... allowing for multiple joint actions to take place.

Every FITPRO must be aware of how each joint moves and how this affects the joints above and below it.

When we plan a session or period of training a FITPRO mustconsider the bias planes, axis, and joint actions to a specific outcome.

Therefore, on a session, a FITPRO can observe all 3 planes and axisand correct specific movements in detail.
