Control system s link your iPatch intelligentpanels with the System Manager software.Each rack of iPatch intelligent panels isequipped with a control system—an iPatchPanel Manager or Rack Manager Plus —which monitors the status of every port.The control system sends connectivityupdates to System Manager to ensure thatyou always have a real-time updateddatabase of connectivity information.

SYSTIMAX control systems also providetechnicians with a local user interface. To aid in tracing existing connections, thedisplay provides end-to-end connectivityinformation, including the location of patchcords as well as the devices connected oneither end of the circuit.

This wealth of information far surpasses thelevel of insight provided by traditional port orcord labels. In addition, control systemsprovide the added benefit of automaticupdates when changes occur in the patchingfield or at the endpoints of a circuit.

The iPatch Control System enhances guidedpatching operations by displaying workorders generated by your System Managersoftware. A local display makes steps in thework order simple, displaying the ports tobe connected or disconnected, as well asproviding visual and audible feedback onthe progress of that step. LEDs on iPatchpanels aid the process, too, lighting up tosignal each patching change.

For unguided operations, the iPatch ControlSystem can be used to confirm changes madeon iPatch panels. All connectivity changes iniPatch panels are automatically detected bythe control system and forwarded on to iPatchSystem Manager, where alerts forunauthorized changes can be forwarded tosystems administrators.

With the iPatch Control System operating as areporting system for your Intelligent InfrastructureSolutions, you gain the Vision and Knowledgeyou need to take Control of your network.
