Sub-Fusc is instructed as follows, a dark suit with dark socks or a dark skirt with black stockings or trousers with

dark socks and an optional dark coat or jacket. Black shoes, plain white collared shirt or blouse, a long black tie, a black or white bow tie or a black ribbon. All dress

should be worn for formal occasions.

Both Postgraduates and Undergraduates are required to wear their appropriate cap and gown in the presence of the Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and other officers of the University in their official capacity at; Matriculation,

Examinations and formal college events. In addition Sub-Fusc must be worn under the gown at all of these events.

Prior to graduation Mortar Boards may be worn but not indoors, Soft caps can be worn both indoors and out. So in both cases it is important to have them fitted correctly, along with the gowns which should be the correct length.
