Graceland Architects is a specialist Healthcare Architectural firm. Our history dates back nearly 30 years with many

projects completed across South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa. We focus only on Healthcare. Simply put, we design for

patient treatment and wellness in an ever developing healthcare environment where innovations in the medical envi-

ronment are constantly improving. To respond to this rapid rate of change, we continually evolve our own knowledge,

using the latest BIM software whilst working alongside our consultant teams and clients to understand the technicalities

Midstream hospital is a multi-disciplinary hospital that also houses a specialised theatre complex with

Cardio and Hybrid theatres. The hospital operates a Cath Lab, Electrophysiology Lab and an Endoscopy Unit.

A new hospital designed to expand to include two multi-storey ward blocks and a day hospital. Certain

additions, like the theatres and an additional ward block were completed in 2015. An additional consulting

room block is set for completion in 2019.

Construction took place with limited space and access and the design of interior spaces and services was

conducted within the constraints of the existing multi-storey building. The building received a refreshing

facelift while at the same time retaining the identity of the original building.

were incorporated. The existing hospital was upgraded to provide safe quality patient care within a world
