ConferenceThe overall theme of the conference will be ‘25 years of Family Law’. We aim to come together from our neighbouring jurisdictions to consider: How far has the law travelled in each of our jurisdictions? Will the themes and ideas we debate this weekend still be relevant at our Golden Anniversary conference in 2045? Where does the Four Jurisdictions Conference delegation see the development of family law looking to the future?The programme is being finalised and will be circulated as soon as it is available. The programme will include sessions on the thorny issues facing us as practitioners in the child law and financial remedy spheres, led by a cast of internationally renowned judges and practitioners from across our jurisdictions.Baroness Hale of Richmond, the President of the Family Division of England and Wales, Sir Andrew McFarlane and the Honourable Mr Justice MacDonald have confirmed their participation.The conference will attract 6 hours CPD points.

Our weekend will begin on Friday with a warm welcome on your arrival at our stunning conference hotel, followed by a superb evening of fine wines, tapas and authentic Andalusian entertainment at a unique Bodega in the heart of Malaga’s historic centre.A fabulous opportunity for delegates and guests to renew old friendships and forge new ones in a fabulous setting. Baroness Hale of Richmond will be giving the opening address.

Saturday 1st February 2020Saturday’s packed conference programme will start with a pre-breakfast ‘Wellbeing at Work’ session. The Honourable Mr Justice MacDonald, Family Division Liaison Judge for the Northern Circuit, will give the keynote address. The programme will include speakers from each of the jurisdictions covering a range of family law topics. Lunch will be served on the terrace and refreshments will be available throughout the day.The President of the Family Division of England and Wales, Sir Andrew McFarlane is also speaking at the event, On Saturday evening, preceded by a cocktail reception, the 1920s glamour of the hotel’s ‘Salón Real’ sets the scene for the 25th Anniversary Four Jurisdictions Gala dinner with dancing into the evening.
