Procedures

1. If you just have an A4 paper, let’s change it into square.

a. Lay the paper on the table b. Fold one corner of the paper. C. Fold that rectangle part

2. Fold the two base angles of that triangle into a new small triangle.

3. Stretch that small triangle and fold the sheet in half from right to left so that you will see a vertical crease on the sheet and do the same on the other half.

4. a. Fold two corners of one side onto another two corners of one side along the one vertical crease.

b. Grab the each new corner and leave a diamond-shaped hollow (the hollow in the graph is shown at the back side)

c. Push the hollow to be empty along the diagonal creases, and 4 small triangles appear. d. Press any two triangles together.

5. Take the bottom corner of the square and place it on the diagonal of the square.(Be careful that the small sharp you make should be placed on the side that is open.)

6. Take the other side and do the same to make a small triangle.

7. Turn over the sheet and repeat steps 5 and 6 to make a “blade”.

8. Fold the tip of the “blade” to the new diagonal line between the top and bottom corner.

9. Stretch out the triangles to the original position.

10. Unfold the triangles of both sides to the original square along with three creases.

11. (1) Lift up the bottom corner of the uppermost layer. (2) Press it along the three creases.

12. Turn over the model and do the same thing again on this side.

14. Do the same thing on the back side and it looks like this.

The two “legs” appears.

(One will be the neck of the crane and another will be the tail)

15. Fold both “legs” up and leave the creases, and then unfold them.

16. Reversely fold both “legs” to the inside of two layers at each side along the creases you made in step 15.

(Here is the final effect after folding both “legs” inside)

17. Use the same reverse fold in step 16 to make a head for the crane by using one tip of the “leg”.

18. Fold down the “wings” of both sides, and you will see the final finished crane!
