Classroom Procedures

“FIRST THINGS FIRST “

Enter the room in a mannerly order each day and check for warm-up and/or assignments.

Food and beverages are not permitted! Never, ever, ever. No exceptions!

All personal business should be taken care of BEFORE the tardy bell! You are allowed 1 free tardy per six weeks. These do not “roll over.” Leaving for a 2nd time results in using 3 reward cards or a DRR. To leave class, you MUST have YOUR planner.

All Cell Phones must be put in THE BASKET and all purses and backpacks must be kept at the front of the room. You may pick up your belongings on your way out of class.

You may bring other class work in the event of finishing early, but you will not be allowed to leave class for this reason. ASK PERMISSION BEFORE INTERNET USE! Use of MySpace.com and similar sites are not permitted in the labs of CHS ……..ever.

Walk to your destination around the room. Rolling in chairs will result in a consequence.

Copying/Cheating is unacceptable! If you choose to do this, I will choose to give all parties involved a zero on the test/assignment.

YOUR WORK SPACE; NOT MINE(sacred space) MAINTAIN IT!

You’re assigned workstation is your “home.” You must be in your assigned seat each day. Failure to do so will result in a tardy or an absence (see CHS Tardy Policy). Each 6 weeks the seating arrangement will change.

Before Leaving, be sure to log out and clean area.

Outside computer programs are NOT permitted in the lab. If you have a disk/CD/Flash drive you’ve brought from home, you MUST have it scanned prior to use. We want to maintain a healthy, virus-free network for your convenience.

It is your responsibility to save your assignments on your home directory (H:/) or on a disk. The loss of data may result in a zero. In addition, you will be responsible for cleaning out your “area” with unnecessary documents.

RewardsR Cards will be handed out each 6 weeks for good deeds.

Each week Mrs. D will select one technology student, who has shown extraordinary academic and/or citizenship, to be Student of the Month. They will receive 5 reward cards, a certificate, and their picture will join the Wall of Fame.

AssignmentsWarm Ups/Activities: Each daily warm-up assignment is worth 20 points for a total of 100 points each week. Late warm-ups will not be accepted and the grade cannot be replaced or dropped. Be prepared to turn warm-ups in at random. I will give no warning.

Daily: Daily Assignments should be recorded on your student planner with the date, instructions, and due date. Be prepared to show planning at random. I will give no warning.

Late work: There is no such thing. You will be given ample time for each assignment. The computer lab is also available after/before school hours. You may choose to make other arrangements if needed.

Absences: It is your responsibility to get the assignment from one of your neighbors or feel free to come see me before or after school if necessary. Excused absences will be given an equal number of days to complete that day’s assignment. Make-Up Work sheets may be found in a labeled folder next to the door.

Unexcused Absences: The highest grade you can receive will be a 70 less deductions.

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILTY TO GET WORK IN THE APPROPRIATE BOX!

At the end of each six weeks, you may have a notebook test that will count as one major test grade. This test may contain only 2 questions, so be organized and on top of things.

Extra CreditExtra credit will be accepted any time during a six week period except the last week.
