Swimming Program There is a pool working bee tonight from 3-6pm to ready the pool yard for the sports on Friday. All hands on deck would be much appreciated. Our students have been working very hard to improve their times and techniques and are really looking forward to tomor-row’s first inter-school event for 2016. Usually I would prepare and send home a list of events for our students but because we have a 100% participation rate this year I have not done this for each student. I hope all parents and special friends are able to come along and cheer on our swimmers. Go Woomelang!

“Together We Achieve More”
Endoreic Film Festival Year 5/6, Hopetoun Last Friday the Year 5 and 6 students spent the morn-ing at Hopetoun Neighbourhood House attending the first Endoreic Film Festival session. We learned about different types of screen shots such as wide shots, long shots, close ups etc. The session finished with students taking a number of shots to set up a scene, which they will see put together when we go back on the 19th Feb-ruary. Homework from the session is for students to put thought into what they could make a short film about and how they would approach it—they had lots of great ideas and we are looking forward to taking the next step! Student Laptops New student laptops have arrived and John the tech is busy setting these up so they can be used as soon as possible. Classroom Homework Students from both the Junior and Senior Class were issued with their Spelling Conventions homework books this week. The first unit is due on Friday 19th February and each Friday after that. We are trialling Fridays as the due date and will notify parents if this should change. Students in years 3-6 will also have a weekly Maths Mate worksheet to undertake. As always, if students are having any difficulty with these tasks please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher to discuss some strategies for un-dertaking homework or assistance with specific concepts. School Photos—7th March Please find the order form attached. There will be a whole school photo as well as separate Junior and Senior Class photos available. Completed order forms and payment should be returned by Tuesday 1st March. Camps, Sports, Excursions Fund Please find attached paper work for parents. Any queries about eligibility or details please contact the school and speak to Andrea (Mondays or Tuesdays). Student Insurance Please find attached the forms regarding the insurance policy available to parents for school aged children. These can be completed and returned directly to the company, not to the school, should parents choose to undertake this option. Nyah Two Bays All Schools Event Please find included with this newsletter the information regarding the upcoming Nyah Two Bays Event on Friday February 26th at the Swan Hill Pool. Please let me know if your child/ren are inter-ested in participating (50m events only).
