Learn Spanish and explore the rich culture of Spain.

Many levels of Spanish will be offered. Students will take SPAN 1900 plus one of the following:

– Elementary Spanish I and II

– Intermediate Spanish I and II

– Advanced Composition and Conversation I and II

Earn up to six credits.

THE PROGRAMStudy Spanish in Salamanca while enjoying the rich cultural heritage that makes Salamanca, a celebrated study abroad and a cultural tourist destination.

The program, newly offered to CCRI students, is hosted by Tía Tula (a language school), with participation of CCRI faculty. The multifaceted program provides participants an environment that includes a combination of small-size language classes and the opportunity to experience Castilian heritage by partici-pating in cultural events and excursions. No previous language experience is required. All are welcome for any portion of the program.

THE LOCATION Tía Tula is situated in the pedestrian historical center of Salamanca, a vibrant university town. The area is filled with students and tourists and is surrounded by the city’s historic monu-ments. It is conveniently located 120 miles from Madrid and is renowned as a World Heritage Site because of its preeminent role in Spain’s history.

July 2 to July 16 (A – two weeks, zero to three credits) . . . . . $1,600

July 2 to July 23 (B – three weeks, six credits) . . . . . . . . . . . . . $2,400

A $200 nonrefundable deposit is due Feb. 1, 2016. Balance is due March 30.

What is included:– Transfer Madrid Airport-Salamanca and Salamanca-

Madrid Airport.– Housing in residence dorm (full board), private

bathroom or housing with host families.– Classes with Tía Tula .– Morning language instruction (all levels).– Afternoon guided tours of Salamanca, leisure and cultural

activities.(e.g., Flamenco dance class, cooking class)– Possible excursions to Avila, Segovia, Madrid, La Alberca,

or Miranda del Castañar.– Travel and health insurance.

What is not included:– Airfare between the United States and Spain

(estimate $1,200).– Phone calls, both in and out of the country.– Personal expenses.– Tips.– Trip insurance (recommended).
