DevicePressing “Device” displays the terminal name, serial number, MAC Address, fingerprintalgorithm,firmwareversion,manufacturerandmanufactureddateandtime.

TROUBLESHOOTING

“UnabletoConnect”Whenthismessageappears,itmeansthatthesettingsfortheterminalandthecom-puterarenotproperlydone.Findoutwhichmethodareyouusingtoconnect.TheterminaloffersWifiandUSBcommunicationmethods.Refer toChapter4 to furtherunderstandthetopic.

“AdminAffirm”Youarenottheadministratorofthisterminal.OnlyanauthorizedadministratorofthesystemisallowedtoaccesstheMenu.AnyattemptofnormalusertoaccesstheMenuwillprompt“AdminAffirm”messageonthescreen.Incasetheadministratororhe/shehasresignedfromthecompany,kindlycontactyourFingerTecauthorizedresellertoaccesstheterminal.

DifficulttoReadFingerFivethingscouldbethecauseofthis:

Enrolmentisnotproperlydone:Enrolmentisthemostimportantprocesstoensurethattheterminalcapturesthebestqualityofyourfingerprints.Refertochapter4forhowtodoagoodenrollment.

The location of the terminal is not conducive: The scanner does not work well inbright-lightedarea.Coverthescanneralittleifthisisthecauseofthedifficulty.Shiftthelocationareaforabetterperformance.

Fingerisnotproperlyplaced:Togetagoodread,makesurethatyourfinger’scenterpointsarelocatedatthemiddleofthescanner.Adjustthepositionofyourfingerprintasyouseeitonscreen.

Thescannerisnotcleanedoritisscratched:Checkthequalityofthescanner.Ifthescannerisdirty,pleasecleanitwithamicrofibercloth.Ifitisscratched,contactyourlocalresellerforareplacement.

Didanythinghappentoyourfingerlately?Makesurethatthefingerisnotinjured,cutorbruisedwhichcouldcauseitdifficultytoread.Thealgorithmreadstheminu-tiae

TheLEDisBlinkingAllTheTimeYouhavenothingtoworryaboutunlesstheblinkinglightisred.Thegreenblinkinglightisindicatingthattheterminalisunderitsstandbymode.Redblinkinglightmaysignalproblemintheterminal.Contactyourresellerforconsultation.

“DuplicateFinger”Theterminalwillnotacceptthesamefingerprinttwiceintothesystem.Ifyouhaveregistered a finger into the terminal, the system would prompt “duplicate finger”whenyoutrytoenrollthatfingerforanothertime.Chooseadifferentfingertopro-ceed.

NoSoundAfewthingscouldcausethisproblem:
