TORQUE GUIDELINES

A calibrated torque device must be used to achieve proper torquespecifications.Use Original Equipment Manufacturers torque specication. If it is not speci-ed in the vehicle owners manual contact the vehicle manufacturer. If theOriginal Manufacturer does not provide a specication, check with the after-market wheel manufacturer for a specication.

In the event that neither the vehicle manufacturer nor the aftermarket wheelmanufacturer give you the specication, the followingMAYserve as a guide-line for passenger cars and light-trucks only:

IMPORTANT:Check new fasteners against the vehicle wrench mak-ing sure they are same size. If the new fasteners have a different hexsize than the original equipment wrench provided with vehicle, be sureto advise the customer that a correct size wrench will be required toremove the new aftermarket fasteners being installed.

Fasteners should be retorqued at about 25 miles. Retorquing must be doneat any time the fasteners are removed. Write the specied torque require-ment on owners wheel documents andreview the complete instructions with thecustomer.

Advise the customer to keep the documentswith the vehicle owners manual and pass italong to any new owner of the vehicle.

If wheel locks are installed, make sure the key is given to the customer. It isalways a good idea to have the customer review, initial and sign the safetychecklist provided by the wheel manufacturer.

AFTER INSTALLATION
