Rekenreks
The rekenrek, or arithmetic rack, was designed by Adrian Treffers, a mathematics curriculum researcher at the Freudenthal Institute in Holland, to support the natural development of number sense in children.

Greater than/Less than
Place the numbers so that the gator gobbles up the greater number and looks away from the lesser number. Practice using mathematical vocabulary like greater than and less than.

Practice Tying Shoelaces
Heres how I taught my kids (It takes lots of practice and patience!)1. Lift up both laces straight in the air2. Make an X3. One lace jumps over and under the other lace4. Pull the laces apart to tighten the first knot5. Make a loop with one lace6. Wrap the other lace around it and push through the opening7. Grab both loops and slowly pull apart, but hold them from down low8. See if you can make a double knot- it stays tied better!
