Rekha & Sudhir Puranik Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Worldwide Oilfield Machine. The Puranik Foundation was established in 2000 to tackle the poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, and low income challenges facing rural residents in Pune, India, with a particular focus on children. The Foundation is located in a remote area of Pune, with no access to running water or electricity. Despite these challenges, the organization has established a fully sustainable community spread across 25 acres, using alternative and renewable energy sources.

This year, the Foundation’s Impact India Study Abroad Program (IISAP) provided 35+ students and teachers from various high schools an opportunity to explore the vibrant culture of India, participate in service project, attend thought-provoking reflection sessions, and gain a strong understanding of international development.

WOM SEA to WOM AP

Starting July 1st, 2015, all WOM SEA’s operations in Singapore have been joined under the same name, WOM Asia Pacific. This is to better serve WOM’s customers in the region with a unified point of contact for all WOM products, services and support.

Despite the recent economic downturn in the oil & gas industry, WOM has opened a new sales offices in Seoul, South Korea and established an agent in Neuquen, Argentina in an effort to better serve its clients in existing markets as well as expand into developing markets. In addition to being a sales office in Korea, the new branch will provide local support to WOM’s customers in the region with service representatives and project management.

The productivity of an open and closed die forging operation is not only dictated by the capacity of the forging hammer itself, but also by the capabilities of the manipulators used to handle, adjust and move the forgings as they are being worked.

Recently, Magnum Forge installed a rail manipulator to boost the capabilities of its 16-ton forging hammer, greatly contributing to the safety, product quality and overall productivity of all forging cycles. Most impressively, the new manipulator was designed and manufactured internally by Magnum Forge in only 40 days from draw-ings to trial run. Built using pumps, motors and rails from scrapped machinery, the rail manipulator did not require any new major parts to be purchased and was designed to the

exact specifications of the forging hammer it was to be used with, providing a sustainable and customized solution for Magnum Forge.

The manipulator has 4 axes of control allowing for the precise movement and positioning of forgings. This process was previously done with manual assistance, assistance which is no longer needed thanks to the rail manipulator, greatly contributing to a safer work environment at the forging shop in Pune.

Additionally, in response to an increased production load, Magnum Forge purchased 3 new forklifts from Germany. The 7 ton, 8 ton and 12 ton forklifts will be used in all aspects of forging production, from loading and stocking materials to lifting and unloading cut blanks and

ingots into furnaces. The 12 ton forklift has a larger capacity than any lifts previously used by Magnum Forge and will allow for much safer and effective movement of the heavy dies and forgings which are seeing

increased demand.

IRS 5 was delivered to The Helix Energy Solutions Group earlier this year, bringing close to an 18-month long project which represents a successful collaborative effort lead by WOM Subsea. The IRS system will first be in service aboard Helix’s Q4000 semi-submersible and will be a source of continued revenue for WOM, as WOM service personnel will be contracted aboard the vessel whenever the IRS system is deployed.

Building the IRS 5 system was a significant undertaking, receiving support from all WOM facilities in Houston as well as substantial support from WOM UK which provided connectors and engineering expertise to the project.

WOM Subsea has already begun work on IRS 6.

WOM is pleased to announce the successful testing of a 3 1/16” 15K Subsea Gate Valve to API 17D specifications at a depth of 16,000 ft. The valve, which was tested in March at Southwest Research Institute, is the first WOM subsea valve to be tested and approved at this depth.

The valve was exposed to 7,120 psi external pressure and the full 15,000 psi working pressure during the testing in which 210 close-to-open-to-close cycles were performed. The valve was required to hold pressure with no water ingress nor indications or leakage during the test cycle, a requirement which it passed successfully and without incident.

We are excited to announce the completion of our new purpose built manufacturing and fabrication facility at the end of March 2015.This current Middle Eastern expansion has increased our combined MTC and WOM-ME facilities to an area of just under 10 acres. MTC occupies approximately one third, WOM-ME another third and a combined logistics and storage yard as the final third to support the operations of both entities.

Considering the excellent growth in business since MTC was established in 2010 and the expected future demand in our particular market sector, the new manufacturing facility will cater for our current and future needs for the next 3 years. The increase in fabrication capacity combined with the in-house blasting and painting capability will greatly assist with the projected demand. Additionally, we are currently in the process of obtaining our ASME VIII Division I U stamp qualification by August of this year to better compete in the mainstream Oil and Gas fabrication sector.

The next stage for the WOM Middle East facilities is an industry standard Training Centre of Excellence. The training center is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed by August 2015. The center has been designed to cater to 20 trainees at one time with a support staff of 6 including a training center Manager, Instructors, Administration, Reception and a bus driver. The facilities will consist of two large theory classrooms and a large practical workshop classroom with a changing room, canteen and kitchen for the staff and trainees.

Finally, as a global entity in the WOM Group of Companies, to expand our horizons further we have registered MTC in Singapore and are in the process of registering MTC in the USA. Local registrations will enable us to meet global demand and inquiries by providing locally proposed solutions as well as providing support to the WOM group entities in those areas.

It has been an exciting five years for MTC and we would like to give thanks for all the support we have received from our WOM group management, WOM-ME management and staff and the WOM regional entities management and staff.

M announces new perat ons rgan at on

Early in 2015, WOM AP announced the formation of the Operations Organization as an answer to the challenges facing WOM in the Southeast Asia region. Currently, there are significant subsea and surface wellhead tenders pending which have the potential to provide the branch with work for several years.

Headed by Djajadi Susastra, the Operations Organization will be primarily concerned with strengthening the collaboration and efficiency of the subsea and surface resources which WOM has in the region and ensuring that WOM AP’s subsea and surface assets and expertise are utilized in the most effective manner possible.

WOM and Access Oil have done it again! It was an almost impossible task to qualify WOM BOPs for the Indian market as they were familiar and comfortable with our competitor BOPs. Despite the great hurdles to overcome our competitors’ strong BOP market share in India, WOM and Access Oil together pushed forward with the “can do” attitude to prove WOM’s BOP is worthy to technically compete …and it paid off! After 5+ years of tireless effort and several ups and downs through this project, we are now proud to confirm that the WOM BOP is officially and completely qualified in the Indian market (i.e. ONGC and their contractors) which has resulted in multi-million dollar BOP sales to WOM.

The most recent order came in May 2015 where WOM was awarded a contract for sale of qty 21 BOPs and Annulars for the offshore rigs of ONGC. This contract includes sale of 13-3/8” 5K and 10K Double Ram BOPs as well as 13-3/8” 5K Annulars. These BOPs are expected to be delivered by the end of this year. This order will be on top of the qty 24 BOPs supplied for ONGC onshore assets in 2013. Furthermore the qualification for ONGC, has opened up the door for private drilling contractors working in India to purchase WOM BOPs and the enquires are pouring in. WOM has already supplied almost 50 BOPs and Annulars to India without any report incident to date. Safety is a big concern when it comes to BOPs and thus this is great success for WOM. Overall these orders and qualifications have solidified WOM’s position in the Indian oil and gas market for BOP sales! We are so proud of our team and look forward to more success!

The WOM Ball Valve Sales Group was very busy for the first quarter of 2015. So far, we have booked several large projects that surpass the total amount booked in all of 2014. Our steadfast customers have continued to support us with business and we have also increased our customer base.

We started the year by booking an order from a major natural gas pipeline company, Equitable Transmission, in Pennsylvania. We worked closely with Trivaco Controls, who represents WOM in the Northern Midwest region of the U.S. to get this order and we made a commitment to Equitable to make the valve deliveries they needed. As a result, we were awarded a PO for several large bore valves ranging from 16” to 30” valves that totaled around $1 million. These valves are due in August of this year.

On the heels of the Pennsylvania order we received five purchase orders for valves in a Corpus Christi, TX project with Koch Pipeline, a project we have been working on for more than a year now. Koch is building an acre-sized pipeline manifold system to handle all the new crude oil that is being produced in the Eagle Ford Shale Play of South Texas. According to API, the Eagle Ford Shale region is the most prolific oil producing field in the U.S. with Alaska’s Prudhoe Bay field coming in second.

The new crude oil and gas production in the U.S. means more pipelines will be built and more valves will bought. Since WOM’s Dual-Seal Ball Valve is recognized as the best in the industry, we have been gaining more attention from end users. The large Koch Pipeline manifold is just one project that we have been awarded because of our unique design. Williams Energy, headquartered in Houston has just added WOM to their Approved Manufacturer List which will increase our opportunities to sell valves.

Koch Pipeline is also planning a major expansion at one of their Minnesota facilities to deal with the Bakkan Oil Field crude oil that is being produced in Montana and North Dakota. WOM’s Dual-Seal is again the valve of choice. This multi-million dollar order was awarded to us in April, about a week after the South Texas job was confirmed. We will be making valves in bore sizes 4” through 30” for these combined projects.

With all this new business, there will be long days ahead for WOM’s manufacturing department in Pune. In

Grace Marcantel (Team Leader), Oscar Luevanos (CAD Engineer), Andrew Martinez (Design Engineering), and Paolo Solorzano (Design Engineer) are members of the Dynamic Masters of Mechanical (DMM) engineering team. For the purpose of an engineering capstone project, the team set forth to design, analyze, build, and test a drivetrain for the Society of Automotive Engineer’s (SAE) electric car at the University of Texas at San Antonio. The team decided on an independently chain driven duel

system mirrored from left to right. All components beginning at the motor output shafts and ending at the rear wheel hubs were included

in the DMM Engineering’s design. Once the design was finalized, the team had to begin building the project.

Thanks to Worldwide Oilfield Machine and its gracious $1000 donation, the team was able to see its design become a reality! The project was completed as of April 23rd, and it was a complete success. The team realizes that this would not have been possible without WOM’s sponsorship and support. Therefore, the team would like to extend its great appreciation of WOM in the completion of our capstone project.

Houston, we are putting in long days too and we are for-tunate to have Grace Barrientez in our Sales Dept, who is quickly learning the ins and outs of the industry and is becoming a big help to Mary Stec and myself. Grace has been with the Ball Valve Group about four months and has quickly grown to become a valuable asset to the Ball Valve department.

The Ball Valve Group has also been able to “borrow” a new shop technician from our subsea group, Randy Lipscomb. Randy has teamed up with Miguel Gomez in the ball valve shop and has been a big help in the short time he has been with us.

Thanks to Mary, Grace, Miguel and Randy, the future has never been more promising for our product line. We just need to anticipate the needs of the market and be ready.
