Being a cadet at Wentworth offers many new chapters in life. No two pages or days are ever the some for the members of the 107th Cadet Corps. The chapters of this "novel" do not deal with mystery or science fiction but with ordinary lives and what becomes of the characters when they experience Wentworth Military Academy.

Delta dominates is more than a company motto. It was the outcome of the company compet i t i on du r i ng the homecoming. The Delta force won the float contest and queen Sonija Davis was a favorite of Delta Cadet Stephen Boyd.

However, the weather tr ied to spoil some of the activities. Rain cancelled the parade through Lexington. Rain protection gear was the order of the day during the homecoming whipping of the Braymer Bobcats, 34-14.

This year? Well , it's really been an experience. When I returned to Wentworth, I didn't really expect I would assume command of Alpha Company. But I accepted the responsibility.

At the start, things got off to a good start. Rooms were in inspection order, and we were even caught dancing in the halls. But the company soon shaped up and we were in the running for the Basore Award .

We strived and even after I left for a whi le to assume command of Echo, the Alpha crew never gave up. When I returned, we still kept our heads up and had the best company in the battal ion.

I'm going to miss you characters, you were the greatest.

This year in Charlie Company was something to be remembered for years to come. Even with all the troubles, internal and external , I think we all learned something.

For all the new guys who came in this year, good job, and I hope to see all of you here again next year.

For all the old boys who aren't coming back next year, I must say that it was pretty cool living and working with you.

Looking over my shoulder, I think this has been one of our better years as a whole. We won the athletic guidon and took the scholastic guidon.

The memories of our t ime in the l imelight wi l l begin to fade into the past, so use this book as a reminder, and look at its pages, listen to what it has to say, and remember us as a family, one great, big, happy family. Remember all the fun and troubles we had and the parties we held when Col. Gant wasn't looking.

I must also say that I wi l l seriously miss all of you very much, and I hope we'l l be able to keep in touch wi th one another over the years. So, I'll see ya' when I see vo' . . .

My fel low Delinquents, This year has provided an interesting learning experience for all of the

members of Delta, especially the 20 who were kicked out of school. We hove hod many excit ing experiences this year, but I reflect upon these as being the most vivid and important.

-When Delta Company entertained LTC Lewis, MAJ Ahrens, and CPT Slusher during CQs.

-The mystery of the burning tree and the huge snowball wi th a special message on it.

-The rise and fal l of Das Platoon. -Did anyone in Delta not get a Breath Test or a UA? -Swanson and Yorbrough greet one another after taps, "Swonscum?"

"Yorscum? . . .What's-ya-doing?" "Duhhh." -Garrett being busted by every OC and Commandant at least 20 times during

the year. "Ahh man, be cooo l ! " -CPT Thomas Norfleet, "Get in your rooms wi th your doors wide open. I have

hod enuff, you're all stuck! Bolls o' f i re. Tarnation. Yur all sub-humans, I'm leaving."

This year has been quite on experience for me. I wish all of you the best of luck in l ife, you'll need it.

Sincerely, C/CPT Ed Peterson, Retired

To Foxtrot Company, No one believed how fast the year went. It was ful l of fun, wasn't it, Garcia. As

a company commander, I would like to thank all of my company staff, the NCOs, the Old Boys, and especially the Rats.

We have done a lot of things no other company could. We managed to keep the Athletic Guidon for the whole year except for the three weeks that Charlie stole it f rom us; the great work we did wi th the phonathon when we raised the most money; and our winning the outstanding company award for the second year in a row.

SSG Boykin call ing cadence. SSG Loves fun t imes. "Be at my door and face the wa l l . " "If you are late for class, you are mine," 1 LT Whitbeck yell ing for no reason. Hurst and Kuper getting caught smoking. Garcia and his fights wi th everyone. When Davis arr ived. When MAJ Kemper announced "Weapons for parade."

Sincerely, C/CPTKharashi

Ah, Headquarters Company, the Marching Band. It was an active year for headquarters. Marching in the American Royal Parade be

fore thousands upon thousands of people in November. Then a few days later, the Snap Drill performance at the American Royal Horse Show received an ovation from the nearly 20.000 people attending.

The band gave strong performances in local parades — Lexington's River Festival, Richmond's Mushroom Festival. The band was one of the highlights of the Sunday Dress Parade.

In April, the band faced a new challenge — having to learn the French Notional Anthem for a ceremony honoring World War I veterans which included Col. Sellers Sr. To top off the year, the Spring Concert was on "excellent" performance, according to Col. Sellers Jr.

Thanks, Headquarters and Dr. D'Aurelio for oil you gave us this year.
